What things do you want mods of if/when mod tools are released?

Once in the livesteam of Fatshark, they said the bots are as they want how they are. And how often do you play with bots?

When as a person who had mods for the 1st one. Those mods where great.

-Better Ai Companions / having the choice of what teammates/classes tag along
-Multiple Equipment load out saves
-Being able to look at your teammates weapons & trinkets just by hitting Tab
(Rarity and stats)
-Chest location pinger (this was mostly for finding loot die)
-Damage Counter (V2 already has this system in but only in the Keep. In V1 the mod was in-game so I would want the option to turn in on n’ off while in-game for V2)

These were the old mods (with changes for the new game) and with V2 actually enabling mods I expect to see

-Character skins (From Historical Warhammer figures to the newest waifu you saw in the trash)
-Map Editor / Creation ( There are many clipping and missing textures that I sometimes ask “this feels rushed” or “do they even care” if we had this we could have people touch up the maps fix some of the lighting issue like skittergate’s cave of blinding light. Also the Keep has many closed doors, until dlc actually unlocks them, creators can throw stuff in there like idk a certain tavern.)

  • Showing loot % (I casually run champions so when I grab a emp chest I want to see if there’s even a chance of a red item)
-Progression Banners (Where they at FatShark where are my banners showing off how far I progressed)

My individual usage of bots is irrelevant. You’re digressing from the topic of the thread, which is about what people “want mods of if/when mod tools are released”.

I do remember that. I also remember them talking about letting modders make QoL mods with one of their functions being the improvement of the bot AI. This suggests that they intend to let the improvements and fixes of bots be handled by modders instead of fixed officially by the developers. Here is an article that would benefit anyone interested in the mod-scene for VT2:

Below is a segment of that article related to bots:

" Something we probably won’t see is rebalancing to make the game easier, much as I’d like it if mid-level bosses like Bile Trolls and Chaos Spawn had about half as many hit points on Recruit difficulty. Grimalack calls it “very unlikely” that custom difficulty rebalancing will make it through the new system. “The bot improvements will likely still make a comeback, however,” he says. “The only complaint the devs ever really had about them was their sometimes ridiculously accurate aim, so that part might have to be left unimproved, but their handling of tomes and grimoires will almost assuredly be changed just like in the first game.” "

For those interested in what will be allowed on the “trusted realm” or “untrusted realm” of the game, you can scroll down to the section titled: A barricade against cheats and trolls. The entire article is a good read though.

Wow, thanks for the article !
I had no idea Fatshark was really into giving people the tools to mess around with VT1, with a proper Steam community and all !

UI customization and Floating Damage Numbers.

Besides changing the layout of the information displayed while actually in game [V1 classic(ish) skin please!], inventory management is just plain atrocious right now. I’d like to see (preferably without a mod being required, but I’ll take a mod if need be):

  • filterable inventories - with multiple keywords allowed so that you can search by rarity, trait, weapon type, etc all at the same time.
  • ability to resize and move the UI information around, potentially suppressing information you don’t care about or adding additional information that you do care about - such as buff timers a la VT1 QoL mod.
  • wish list would include additional post processing filters such as added sharpen, color vibrancy, etc. Reshade 3 works great, but only on DX11 and has no plans of being updated to DX12.

Floating damage numbers are just fun, and can impact your appreciation of a weapon in a way that spreadsheet-warrior can’t. Also, reminds me of my enjoyable MMO days that I don’t have time to play anymore.

  • A player model for Fraz Lohner (The innkeeper)

  • Having to the find the lore pages again like in the original VT

  • Have blood on weapon not dissapear

-Have blood stains stick to players characters and teammates ( I kinda imagine like in bloodborne where blood would just constantly keep stacking until you were soaking wet).

  • And Lastly Although I am an Kerillain Main, a mod from the April Fool’s joke where Kerillain would have duck tape over her mouth ( I think it would be funny if every time she tried to talk, it was just muffled noises).

No gore and no screenshake, hoping someone will make those, but if not i guess i will have to learn to mod VT2. Probably highest on my priority list.

Personally:

  1. Better inventory management.
At the moment, if you get a new trinket and you want to make sure all your heroes/careers have it equipped, you have to switch hero 14 times.
Also organising items by tagging some as “favourites” or “scrap” would help.
  2. Bots that know how to jump, and how to carry tomes and grimoires.
  3. Status icons for traits like Natural Bond, Hands of Shallya, Proxy etc…

P.S.: For the love of Sigmar, no pink armour, please!
