But I’m not being allowed into rank 21 lobbies! This has already happened three times today. What the hell? In what way am I not good enough? I can’t create a rank 21 lobby myself either — right now I can only create a rank 22 lobby. But I want to practice in rank 21 lobbies so I don’t lose my rating
I understand that perfectly, but I’m applying for a spot in a mission of a difficulty level I’ve already beaten this season. A meta build, as far as I can tell. A True Level that shows I’ve completed dozens of missions with this character. Cosmetics that highlight I’ve cleared over 50 Havoc missions. What else is needed? What am I missing to satisfy even the most demanding and picky lobby hosts?
Hosting your own games is going to be the easiest solution to your problems.
Darktide Havoc is a bit similar to WoW Mythic Dungeons; people do not want to take any chances with failing runs, so they will always choose the best-geared players with the highest parses (you must link the parses), “Ahead of the Curve” achievements, and so on.
In Darktide, the player with the highest true level is usually chosen (also depend on class), and early on in Havoc’s life, having ‘True Survivor’ as a title was valuable (although it was easy as F to get TS in Havoc 1.0).
It’s stupid that you cannot get invited to Havoc 21, but it is what it is.
I wouldn’t take being declined in Havoc lobbies personally. A lot of people cannot see your build anyway, because they don’t use mods. Joining a party / assembling a Havoc party are easily the most tiring activities in the game, especially if you are just a solo player.
I actually stopped playing Havoc when my gaming buddy was unavailable. I played only few matches here and there, because few people who joined our party in the past have invited me. If the population could handle it I would say the game needs unranked and ranked Havoc
if u got rank 40 itd be much easier. btw play veteran n ogryn if u want to get in a lobby since they r more needed in havoc. every time i start a havoc 40 party, i can see hundreds of zealots asking to join. there r simply too many of zealots and ur rank aint being competitive
On a serious node, you are not running beacon which is the one reason one might need zealot. I personally do not like DS and flamer zealots as they are always where you don’t want them. So assuming ppl are looking for a zealot, have mods installed, don’t look for anti corruption … then you have to compete with true level 500+ true survivors for the slot in a group which is expected to clutch if worst comes to happen.
A low true level player with a “meta” loudout is generally a big sign of inexperience.
Most people are terrible at the game so they want their safety nets, meaning chorus zealot with at least 150+ in true level running the corruption aura and flamer/ds4.
The fact that rotten armour is back reinforces the need for safety nets even harder.
The other group playing havoc for fun despises meta loadouts as they’re badly balanced, unfun and trivialize the game in some aspects.
That’s basically your entire havoc population. If you want to play the loadout you want you host your own and climb by your own strength. That includes learning to deal with dropping a rank or two and releveling.
Might have wanted some other class combo. Also, if they are inspecting your spec with mods and don’t know Fatmangus the extra wounds will be offputting.
Edit: True level below 100 means still working on fundamentals / unfamiliar with class.
that’s why I hate that pssy-mode with a burning passion.
under lvl 40 “rejected, rejected, rejected”
once 40 “this way sir, have a seat sir, are you comfortable sir?”
so every season I wait for 40s in the lobby, have a hole in one (true-lvl >2000, true survivor and 40 sign helps) after that I call it quits for the “season” anyways.
I dont apply and care even less who’s on the team. I hit play and that’s all there’s to it.
People are so afraid that they even reject 40 players whenever they don’t run meta loudouts. The amount of times I’ve been asked to switch to bubble or chorus is basically 100%. The mode would be way more fun if they simply got rid of deranking. Or allow perpetual access to 40 or free rank selection once you’ve climbed to 40 3 seasons in a row or something.
All I want to do is play 40s with fun off meta loadouts tbh.
That’s the point. People that can’t derank are way less toxic. The pub 40s I joined climbing up are generally absolutely whatever in terms of what you bring. Just do away with deranking entirely and fix the mode that way.
People worse at the game can climb at their own leisure and in peace, and no one risks losing a rank giving a “bad” player a chance.
Beacon — I see this node on 100% of the Zealots I encounter, and since identical auras don’t stack, I choose Benediction. However, my build allows me to switch this node in two clicks without changing anything else in my talents
As for clutches, I’m very far from being able to pull one off on H21, so my build is designed, in my view, to help me keep my teammates from dying
But I’m not trying to get into an H40 lobby — I’m only aiming for a spot in an H21 lobby
I’m too close to the edge. Playing H20 doesn’t do much to prepare me for H21
But this is exactly the build that lets me stay on my feet when I would’ve gone down with a different one. Yesterday I actually managed to get into an H21 lobby, and the mission was a success (for some reason the Twins didn’t show up—if they had, the mission would’ve failed). I took about three thousand damage, but only died once. For comparison, the only player less effective than me, the Arbites, took six hundred damage and died twice (his damage output is actually a bit higher, but he wasn’t providing the team with golden toughness)
Play H21 until you get used to it and then rerank to 21 then. This is the entire point of the mode. Challenging yourself at the risk of losing a rank.
If you want to play fun builds like fatmangus you have to be able to rise up on your own or keep begging to be let in. That’s simply how it is right now. People are too reliant on their crutches.
You’re without a havoc title/frame/insignia which means you’re on the absolute bottom of the priority list as that’s the first thing people see (no one mouses over to check armor cosmetics, and if they are mousing over, they’re doing so to check build). Your truelevel is also relatively low. You’re also running BP Chorusbot which are a dime a dozen and most teams don’t want two of them as that tanks damage and turns the game into a slog. You could try doing Martyrdom Chorusbot (which is the exact same build except you just switch BP for Marty and the two damage subnode).
If you want to be instant picked play inferno psyker and apply to a psyker-less team or play tauntgryn.
Low level DS flamer chorus zealots are dime a dozen and contribute very little in my experience. This is by no means targetted at you, just sharing my general experience.
They tend to end up doing VERY low melee dmg, and flamering rotten clowncars won’t get you far this season either. On top of that, the increased CD on chorus (especially without shred to streamline critting before piety kicks in) limits your potential to contribute meaningfully.
At this point, I honestly prefer martyr relic sword zealot of any kind over DS flamer piety, because than at least I know they have competitive melee dmg, even if they end up going down eventually.
This is just nitpicking, but I would also run shred over relentless for higher invocation uptime before piety kicks in, as well as penetrating over everlasting flames with anointed to maximize flamer potential, which is your main source of damage with that build.
