What needs to happen for me to give more $ to Fatshark and keep playing this title

I had previously asked why the game was missing so many great features that VT 2 had, but after playing the game more and closing in on 100 hours, I’m already feeling a slow down. The core gameplay is great, but it can only carry this title so far before the other massive list of flaws start dragging it down.

So if Fatshark wants to keep me as a returning customer and spend more cash, at minimum this is what I would have to see for myself:

1 - Full crafting features (including weapon crafting and breaking down gear for materials)

They can keep the god awful RNG armory. As long as I have the ability to craft a weapon I have access to at any time, I’m good. Being forced to check a refresh timer every 60 min to get a force weapon for my Psyker is absolute crap.

2 - Scoreboard

It’s not enough that I wiped out whole generations while slaying scabs during a single mission. I want to see some numbers at the end. How many specials did I kill? What was my headshot %? You know…stuff we had in VT 2.
While the game is inherently co-op, there is still an uncontrollable desire to compete with team mates for scores and stats.
Give me my dopamine reward.

3 - Shared inventories for crafting mats

I’m not going to grind out 4 separate inventories for weapon upgrades and trait rerolls. Just not happening. The game barely has progression and reward systems in it. Gate keeping me from building my ultimate weapon just so I play Fatshark’s game more in a grind is bad, especially if that’s the only incentive they’re giving me to keep playing beyond lvl 30.

4 - More rewards for playing

VT 2 rewarded the player after every mission. If you did really well you got an awesome chest with a goodie inside. If you did the bare minimum, you still got a chest but it was more like a participation trophy.
At least the player was getting something tangible. Something that wasn’t just an intermediate bridge to something else.
I also want to get the chance to earn premium currency to use in the cash shop. This isn’t a free to play title. I paid $40. VT 2 did it.

5 - A cash shop that doesn’t suck

No FOMO timers. Get that garbage out. List items for their actual dollar value. No staggered bundle values that don’t line up with item costs. Let me buy something for exactly how much it costs.
I will NOT buy premium currency bundles that leave me with too much or too little (and no way to earn the difference from doing missions).
If basic cash chop changes aren’t made, I’ll just not buy anything. I got the Imperial edition of the game as part of an RTX gfx card I bought, and it gave me 2500 Aquila. I won’t even spend that. I won’t contribute in any way to Fatshark’s shop metrics and stats sales tracking.
That’s how much I hate the cash shop mechanics.

6 - Weapons & armor featured in promotional videos and news blasts offered to the player as rewards for playing (NOT in the cash shop)

First, advertising things like the Ogryn shock maul and then not offering it at a “full release” is straight up bullcrap. Same with Ogryn armor. Same with the Veteran helmet and goggles combo.
Fatshark hyped up this game showing us cool stuff to wear and fight with, and then not only do they omit these things on a full release, but they also lock anything remotely cool looking behind ridiculous achievements (penances) that are not team-friendly and don’t contribute to winning a match as a party.
And the coolest stuff is in the cash shop, being sold for $12 bundles. The same cash shop I get to run past while going to the armory to spend 40,000 ordo dockets on a recolored pair of crappy pants that have patches sewn into them.
Just no.

7 - Penances that are more achievable, and make sense from a team-friendly standpoint

You want me, as a Psyker, to blow myself up 3 times…on purpose? At a higher difficulty? So my team mates are forced to stop fighting and pick me up every time? Just so I get to do it again?
No.
You want me to take the smallest ammo capacity gun I can find on my Veteran, blow it all into a single enemy that’s big enough to not miss (like a Nurgle spawn), and then melee the rest of the game? As a ranged-based class with ranged-based special abilities and passive auras?
No.
You want me, as an Ogryn, to wait until I see not one, not two, not three, but FOUR enemy Ogryns just so I can knock them all down at once? Meanwhile my team is getting slaughtered by the first three, but I’m holding off shooting them, hitting them, or staggering them because I’m praying that 4th appears.
No.

These are horrible. They detract from a team-orientated game. They just troll other players who are trying to finish the mission, especially at higher difficulties.
It’s almost like they were purposefully made this ridiculous just so the player would give up and say, “F it…I’ll just go spend $12 at the cash shop and make myself look cooler that way.”
Well I won’t.

Give me all that, mostly stuff Fatshark mostly had in their last “tide” game, and I’ll happily spend cash on cosmetics and support the company.
These are things that make me as a player feel rewarded, supported, and valued. If I feel valued, I want to reward the company in return.

Right now I feel manipulated, scammed, and lied to in the effort of making me spend more money. And I refuse.

Most of the things you mentioned should have existed at launch but there was just too much priorities in making sure there’s a fully functional premium cashshop.

I can only agree with you.
Uninstalled the game today because the random crashes are gonna make me pop a blood vessel.

other than the competitive view regarding the scoreboard, I agree 100%

All of those things are what the game should have had in the first place. They deserve no new cent as it stands right now.

With all of that added (which should have been in at launch) I still will not participate in the microtransaction shop

This stuff should have been present at launch. Fatshark totally cashed in their goodwill for short term gains. They completely wasted the entire development cycle of VT2 (all the growing pains, all the feedback from the community) in place for money - now.

Fatshark isn’t Fatshark anymore, they are Tencent - plain and simple.

Luckily I haven’t had major crashing issues since the first hotfix went out on launch day.

Performance…that’s another issue, but it’s an issue present in almost every major titled I’ve played in the last 5 years, so I’m kind of used to it.

That’s the thing that upsets me about this entire fiasco. If they’d just deliver a fun experience to players, people would have happily spent money on their over-priced skins. If they spent time focusing on optimization and ensuring the game performs well during the two week pre-“beta”; then I wouldn’t have ultimately refunded. Their priorities are so out of line with what game maker should be focused on, that it’s ridiculous. I mean get this. I’m seeing reports of US East Coast players not being able to log in to the game due to error 4008:

Yet you can still access the cash shop from character select screen. Isn’t that great! I hope it was worth burning your community’s good will, Fatshark.

It gets better. They actually upped the number of Ogryns you need to knock down from 4 to 6.

Whoever is responsible for this design decision (and whoever approved it) - I hope you stub both of your toes at the side of the couch.

So, they finally gave us a challenge? Nice.

While I do not need a scoreboard or similar that much, most points hit home. It almost hurts to read this post. Good points, really.

FS, just write this points down and post them as a roadmap. Delay new classes and maps if needed, these points need to be in the game before it can get better (beside patches and/or hotfixes).

Also if there is no grand plan for the story, make one! So far this was not even cliche or weak, it was just lame and uncreative.
It started so well with the “Prologue” and the “I’m a warrior” - awesome, really!- but took a nosedive afterwards. I will not spoil anything, but, tell true, this was the work of a trainee.
It was, right?
RIGHT, FS?!

Everything but the scoreboard is to get us idling around the FOMO cash shop, looking at others cosmetics and to tempt us to impulse buy. I haven’t heard anyone give any alternative reasons as to why we have so many timers and so limited agency around our gearing.

The scoreboard I’m glad is gone. There is too much variation in runs for it to be used as a tool to improve, and all it did (in my experience) was to give negative feedback to players. It gave the green circle chasers in VT2 something to feel good about and to berate others with (I have experienced this first hand) and discourage new players.

Lol.

I give up. F that achievement.

Giving personal scoreboard is enough. I don’t need to see others. I just want to know my stats.
Letting you see others can lead to toxicity. I agree with that. But getting my numbers, and obviously not giving ratios about certain ones, will just be informative.

Especially when doing challenges like 100% accuracy and such.

In adition of all the sugested features we need :

1 : Solo / private mode with bots

2 : A true mission selection system and not a stupid random rotation.

3 : All the trailer cosmetics and weapons for free, for everyone who bought the game and not only in cash shop / deluxe editions.

4 : A true weapon store and not a stupid 1 hour random rotation full of autoguns and battle shovel with insanely bad perks.

5 : A roguelite mode like Vermintide 2

With all of these feature the game could not be another BF2042-like mess.

Y’all too sensitive about a scoreboard I agree with every point on this list. There’s way more things people can be toxic about.
