What Mods that should be Incorporated into Base Darktide?

I think you misunderstand the word “wrong” and “I don’t agree with you”. I, as in me, don’t think any mod, reaaaaaaally has to be implemented. Because, you know what? They don’t have to be. I wouldn’t say no to them being implemented. But, at the end of the day, Fatshark has avoided the whole Vermintide 2 mod issue by allowing us to mod the game ourselves.

So they don’t really have to moderate and concern themselves with modding. That’s up to us. Do I think it’s better that the developer does it? Absolutely. But, since people can’t agree on anything and will fight to the end of time over something like Scoreboard, I think this is an acceptable way of doing it. :man_shrugging:

Edit: For Xbox people, that’s something different and I won’t get into that argument. This has been an issue with modded games for a long time. Valid point though.

And also, for people who do not “wish” to mod it. By all means, play barebone. It’s better to have and not use, than to not have and want to use. That’s their choice, not mine, not Fatsharks.

i think its that some mods would work better if incorperated into base darktide.
such as Weapon Customization mod,

ya you could get the mod but then other players cant see your cool looking weapons.
if it were implemented into base darktide perhaps we could show off the cool weapons we make
and others could show off theirs, this can only really be done if it were Incorporated into base game.

found it thank you, i dont know why i couldnt find it before.
and the drip mod is on discord, i also heard theres a mod that allows you to see all clothing cosmetics?

Yeah check all cosmetics. It also gives you the names of items so you can mix and match them with for the drip. Like my stupid obsession with combining rebreathers with hats, but you need the base item.

ive started using mods but i have to ask, are all mods ok to use, or are their some to stay away from as they can get you banned?

I’m not aware of any mods that could risk you getting banned, and I’d confidently say anything up on Nexus is A-OK.

That being said, if you abuse some mod in some way – annoying people or obviously exploiting to the determent of other players – enough to get yourself noticed and reported, FS may take action against you.

Then just let us see only our own performance. I suppose there are some people that would argue that they just grief themselves though. New age frailty.

what about the mods not on nexus, like the For the Drip mod? which is only on the discord now.
and lights when using custom weapons mod, or is it all mods are good unless they run others fun?

Lights on weapons are all client-side, so that doesn’t break any rules.

Ditto on For The Drip as far as I’m aware.

My understanding of it is that you can change your perception of the game, but not change the game itself. That’s why Spidey Sense is allowed, alongside For the Drip, Weapon Customization etc. But the moment you start altering how the game actually works is when there is a problem.

For the Drip does that, but is only available on the Darktide modding discord afaik

I think the current Fatshark approach to modding is “nobody made anything really egregriously cheaty or disruptive so far, so we’ll just ignore how some mods already kind of tow the line”
There’s a couple mods that by the letter definitely go against modding policy but they’re small peanuts so it’s not really something they bother with

Mods that should be implemented in no particular order:

  • crosshair_remap
  • crosshairs_fix
  • Perspectives
  • CThruShields
  • DynamicCrosshair
  • FullAuto
  • NumericUI
  • PreferAuric
  • PreventPlayerFade
  • SpectatorHUD
  • StimmsPickupIcon
  • true_level
  • buy_until_rating
  • contracts_overlay
  • FilterTrash
  • ChatBlock
  • ForTheEmperor
  • InventoryStats

It is absurd to me that I have to use 18 mods for quality of life features that should be standard.

You only need 18?

Edit: I forgot to mention that SpectatorHUD was actually implemented as an official Darktide feature in Patch #17.

now if they would only add in cross class cosmetics for psyker vet and zealot, and the weapon customization mod, perhaps the scoreboard, id never put this game down.
