This is my mod pack that I’ve been maintaining. I have a bundle you can download with some of the basic mod resources and fully configured mod_load_order.txt file. Detailed instructions on everything to download.
I would’ve given up on DT 8-months ago if not for the mods. These are the only reason I can tolerate the game :). So many quality of life improvements in the pack.
Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions about it.
Literally all of them. There is nothing to recommend, just take them all and keep them updated. Thank us later.
If you do want something truly game changing, though, I do recommend “Perspectives” mod, the one mod that turns this game into a competent third-person shooter. I love it, can’t play without anymore.
Auto Mod Loading and Ordering - Gets rid of having to update that text file every time you add / remove a mod. So just QoL.
True Level - Just lets you see how experienced people tend to be in general. Tbh at this point I’ve noticed it has a rather poor correlation with skill so idk if there’s any point in.
Reveal Blessings - Shows all blessings on upgrade, even the ones you don’t have.
Custom HUD - Absolutely mandatory imo. Lets you move all HUD components around.
Buff HUD Improvements - An addon to above, adds a new buff bar and a way to add any specific buffs to it. With these two I could move my peril gauge right below the crosshair, and add trackable buffs like True Aim etc right next to the crosshair so I always know when an important talent/blessing is stacked or about to trigger.
InventoryStats - Lets you see stuff like hp/toughness/crit etc. in inventory. It doesn’t work right at all for the most part, but it lets you see weapon base crit rates and automatically shows total crit after crit stat so it’s good for that alone.
Decode Helper - Shows the full decode table all at once.
Spidey Sense - Requires a ton of setting up, but helps so much now that the special+ sounds have been bugged for 4+ months. It’s nowhere near enough to replace the audio cues though, and also doesn’t always work.
Debuff Indicator - Shows DoT / brittleness etc. stacks on enemies.
Contracts Overlay - Esc / tab shows contracts and their status in mission or out in the hub to easily keep track of them
Psykhanium Default Difficulty - Saves your psykhanium difficulty, instead of resetting to Malice every time
Prefer Auric - Saves your Auric/not selection, instead of resetting to normal every time
Buy Until Rating - A massive QoL improvement for gearing. For example I set it up so whenever I buy a weapon off Brunt’s, this mod buys 20 at once, sells everything that’s below base score 360, and gives me a report of how many I got. It takes 2-3s flat and just shaves off like 5+ minutes of wasted time and effort every time I go on a gearing spree.
Edit:
Oh and also! As a new modder remember that every time the game gets any kind of patch or hotfix at all, you have to re-enable the mods again. So:
Go to your Darktide folder, ie. “…steamapps\common\Warhammer 40,000 DARKTIDE”
‘Recommend mods’ tags me to automatically shill psyk ward, menu hot keys, crosshair remap and weapon customization all at once. Ignore the stupid server errors with the morningstar backend as you do everything in the game without ever going there. Sometimes you can even craft without hearing Hadron talk.
A lot of guns have garbage crosshairs like plasma gun. Others have terrible iron sights because they gave up on the attachment system for now but that’s no reason for them to go unused. I care too much about my personal drip to make ugly unsightly things for other players to witness as much as for the drip is goated. Also if you want the vacuum capsule goof mod just ask.
I used weapon customisation and pewpew to turn the aggrinappa braced autogun into a fully automatic lascarbine. The spread is massive and looks hilarious when it has a lasbolt attached to it.
Some of these mods are just stuff i like to have but which i could live without
I like the constant fov mod because i tend to get a bit sea sick if the fov keeps changing back and forth too much.
Hub hotkeys is also very useful since it will lets you open up hadron while in the psykhanium, and you dont have to run all over the place to access the different vendors and what not.
Edit:
DisableScreenEffects
I like this one because i hate having too many filters and clutter on my screen when playing.
Buy until rating & psych ward are the 2 biggest time savers you will come across. Buy until rating lets you save dozens of hours of menuing when making a new weapon, psych ward lets you skip the lobby entirely and consequently save dozens of hours loading into the morning star (which takes 30x longer than loading into char select)
Mods starting with _ are disabled; yes, I did not find the scoreboard to my liking, and no, tis not because I don’t get top scores - it’s because I fundamentally dislike the way it calculates said scores. Weapon customization looks like a lot of fun but I found it very unstable (frequently dropping connections to Fatshark servers when this was enabled). Note that some of those are “framework”-type mods, i.e. they only permit other mods to work.
You can basically disable everything on the base scoreboard mod, and then use just the sections added by ovenproofs version. Way more useful information and it doesn’t waste real estate calculating “score” - just the raw stats much better presented and formatted.
