Suggestion for developers

Hello, I’m a relatively new Darktide player, but I’m a hardcore gamer with over 2000 hours of gameplay, and I’d like to make some suggestions for the developers to make the gaming experience for all of us better and more rewarding.

I sincerely hope that one of the developers will read this post and give at least some feedback.

With this post, I don’t want to sound like a spoiled gamer, but I’m trying to improve the gaming experience for most of us who would like some elements of the game to be improved more, instead of using mods for those improvements. I DON’T WANT TO USE MODS, but I’m forced to because a lot of concepts don’t suit me, especially visual ones.
I hope the whole community will support me in this.
Of course, in this post I will not even mention the necessity of changing the very bad forging system, as well as the random system of buying weapons and granting blessings and perks … that must and should come first and before everything else.

As a first item I would like to have a scoreboard that we could see at the push of a button throughout the map as well as at the end of the map. That scoreboard should show results throughout the session as well as at the end of the session. I’ll give you an example I made:

The scoreboard should show player scores, who is first who is second etc. from start to finish.

The presence of a scoreboard raises a lot of questions for example if a veteran uses a plasma gun it is almost certain that he will have the highest range of damage and number of kills. But it can also be an incentive for other players to try harder to make the best possible result. The scoreboard, at least in my opinion, is very motivating and I think it opens up a new dimension of effort and competitive spirit in order to be the best and do your best to achieve the best result.

The next item would be the dodge number. It’s completely incredible that dodging, which is an essential process of the game itself, has no place in the HUD. Most of the blessings for the Zealot, for example, are based on dodging. How such a visual item was left out of the HUD is beyond me. Each weapon is assigned a dodge number, but we can’t see it, which is completely unacceptable. I repeat again, I am not a spoiled gamer, I just want a better visual identity and the experience of playing itself.
Something like this should exist as an integral part of the game:

This data should show the exact number of dodges complete and when it reaches its negative number.

The next item would be the color of the stims. So I think that we don’t need to talk much about this because the picture itself says much more than words. So what is visually more beautiful is for the community to vote on its own.
Is this better:
colorful stimms pickup

or

stim2 ark

Furthermore, it would be great to see the color of the stims on the players I’m on the team with. This would allow us to leave certain stims for others to take.

These would be just a few suggestions to get you started, and if these aren’t the primary problems the game itself has, they would be great additions that would bring a smile to many players’ faces. Of course, there will always be those who are against such changes, but my wish is that, with small steps, we can reach a common solution that would suit everyone. It would be great if these elements were offered as an option for those who don’t want them. I think that this is not a big deal for the developers and that in one of the next updates we can hope for some of these changes. Also all my praises for the upcoming update which I am very much looking forward to. Admittedly, it would be better if you sorted out the crafting system first, but any change is welcome.

PC: I apologize for my bad English as it is not my native language.

I would like to see the colourful Stimms pickup, Numeric UI and Scoreboard as official features at some point but for now I’m happy to use the mods >.<

Me too :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Awesome stuff.

Give us a scoreboard i play on xbox so cant even use the mod for the bandaid fix of a scoreboard. Even if they just steal the mod and implement it as their own i dont care at this point. i just want it and so does everyone on xbox i play with and talk to (which is lots coz i LFG all the time)

Also with the stims it would be nice if i could see what colour stim teammates have instead of just “teammate have stim? yes or no?”

The problem was that throughout the entirety of '21 and '22 you couldn’t think the word “scoreboard” on this forum without starting an absolute sh**storm. FS chose to not include it in the base game (and people flooded the boards during the betas to both thank them for that and demand it be returned) but also to permit the scoreboard mod and thus take the completely understandable middle road. Atm, it’s functionally a toggleable option for people who want it.

But now with console players not having that option -and the fact that most of the anti-scoreboarders are no longer around- I think the time may well have come to enable it into the base game. Even if they just integrate the mod or make it still an optional feature, it’d be nice for everyone to have.

As for the implementation of the scoreboard, CMs previously said they would not implement it due to a lot of negative feedback.

In my house we have an xbox and a pc and my son, for example, can’t see the results unless he looks at my computer. The scoreboard is a great thing but I don’t think many people understand it

We should stop referring to it as a scoreboard (although it is in the conventional sense) and instead call it a Stat Board.

The “score” is not the point, and personally I really dislike that the base scoreboard mod includes calculated “scores.” The point of the scoreboard should be in providing players with useful statistics about their performance, which they can gauge in relative terms against their own past performance and/or other teammates.

Anyway - call it a “Stat Board”

And FWIW, Ovenproof’s scoreboard mod plugin is 100% the way to go (see example below). It’s vastly easier to parse and read than tne default scoreboard, and contains a lot more detailed and useful metrics.

Sorry to tell you, but the metrics on Ovenproof’s scoreboard aren’t the most accurate. I had a case yesterday where I did a huge amount of kills and damage that I did for sure more than all the other players on the team and again it showed me incorrect results. Then I switched to Power DI which from the same author is just better tuned and I’m currently happy with the accuracy of the mod. But again I say it’s just a mod and the mod can never compensate or compare with the data and statistics that could be provided by the scoreboard that the darktide developers themselves would provide us because they know best how the data is collected

Call it a poopsock board for all i care. I just want it. But yes the scoring on that isnt needed
Total kills
Elite kills
Specialist kills
Monstrosity damage
Revives
Saves (hounds, trapper)
Damage taken
Downs
Deaths
I think is all u need unless im missing something obvious. An actual score is pointless and cant be done accurately

There’s a mod for that - The thread :stuck_out_tongue:

Honestly I feel bad for Xbox players not having a scoreboard. If I was doing poorly as a damage spec that I was testing out I would want to know… they’re in the dark.

Man I want a bad foraging system in this game.
You pick some nice looking berrys BAM deadly nightshade and my stupid ass thought I would get a nice bluberrypie in the end of the game.
Some neat mushrooms maybe make a stew well now you have to go to the ER after the mission.

FS pretty please add this as a new material pickup in next uppdate.
I want “got poisoned trailblazing through Hab Dreyko” frame

“Fought for Atoma and got this stupid frame for it” joke?
Nice.

They can just get a friend (PC player with mods), who plays every single match with them.
The PC player can then read the entirety of the scoreboard to them after every match, or take a screenshot of the scoreboard and send it to them via E-mail.

You see, there is no need to implement any of the moddable features into the base game.

I hope this is sarcasm. Mods existing shouldnt be an excuse for the devs not putting basic features in the game. Hold them accountable and the game will get better, stop letting them off just coz there’s a inconvenient alternative to fix issues the devs created.

I prefer the absence of a scoreboard - putting numbers on everything takes away immersion for me. I used the mod for a week and realised I felt more immersed without it AND my stomach feeling after each match (wether I performed well or not in combat and who was most effective) was accurate 95% of the times.

I find FS decision not to include a score or stat board great and hope they stick with it.

If you need a scoreboard to tell wether your loadout or playstyle worked fine or not you aren’t paying any attention during the mission.

It would be different in helldivers if team kill and friendly fire statistics were accurately tracked - that would actually very important information in that game. Otherwise HD2s scoreboard is superfluous as well.

Aka you suck at the game and dont want ppl to see, so you have nothing excuses to not have a basic feature in the game.

If scoreboard, then make it an option only.
I dont want to be forced to use it.
for those who want one and like it, all power to you, but please as an option only.

I think if they add a scoreboard, they have to add another feature too.

Cowardice-prevention. All people who abandon their missions and betray their teams should be shot and their account erased.

As long as we get both added at the same time, I’m up for it.
