What is your biggest pet peeve so far?

If we’re talking gameplay pet peeves (instead of unfixed bugs) then mine is probably the effect of fire and how it slows you down like wading through a bog. Worst of all is when something ignites under you mid-jump and slows you down mid-air!!! That drives me bloody mad.

Or when a flamer is hitting you with a wall of concrete

For me it’s teammates running ahead without clearing areas. They just rush to the end as if they were in a hurry to stop playing the game.

Language warning… but chances are that’s not a surprise

  • Solo mode fiasco
  • Expeditions being a thing
  • Predatory-at-best shop
  • Balancing held hostage by review bombers
  • Balance discussions becoming extremely polarized (____ everything/nothing is just plain silly like what happened to nuance)
  • Performance issues (incl. server issues preventing people from playing at all) not being addressed
  • No secondary keybinds (let alone rebinding AT ALL for controller… wtf)
  • Party Finder but no Lobby Browser
  • No custom matchmaking, instead power outage and dogs all year every year
  • No ChatBlock despite it being in VT2, and a mod, and simple, and implementing a mode which requires more coordination than a rather empty emote wheel, and basically everyone agrees and would benefit from it.

… Sorry, was I supposed to just pick one?

Nice

The lack of buffering in certain situations. As an example, I’m swinging the crowbar 1 million MPH and I want to swap to the alt mode; I have to wait for my attack to finish (if press too soon, it doesn’t register) then I do this relatively slow crowbar spin animation and now finally I can attack. Lots of animations like that where input is blocked for a short period. I’ve played lots of WS revolver vet and at least 1 time per game I will quickswap to the revolver and fire two bullets because I quickswap back to melee too quickly after shooting once.

I have this issue with the Indignatus crusher too. If you try to activate the special without waiting for a dead stop in the attack animation, it just ignores the input. I wish it would either interrupt the current attack or queue before the next attack when you activate the special. You can always interrupt attacks when weapon swapping, so I don’t think interrupting it with the special would be too strong/abusable.

mine is how really good Event modifiers get sunset

the modifier rotation is so nerfed

& Havoc maps and modifiers should not be such small pools if they’re rotating

I could legitimately write a couple paragraphs about all the pet peeves I have with this game, but if I had to choose only 1 thing as the biggest pet peeve…

I think it would be the situations where control of your character gets taken away from you(grabbed by mutant for example) and you then get combo’d by a flamer or bomber puddle and take a ton of unavoidable damage and/or even go down or die from it.

Mutants on their own aren’t too bad, but its situations when the audio cues start to cut out, there’s a mutant charging at me, I try to dodge the mutant and will be standing literally behind and to the side of the mutant, but it still somehow manages to bend its arm backwards and extend it a good 3-4 feet just to grab me anyway

Or the situations where a chaos spawn grabs you and then while its biting you 2 gunners are shooting you the entire time and a bomber just threw a nade right under you, or when hounds just ignore your pushes/dodges and just pounce you anyway, or when a beast of nurgle swallows you and then crawls through fire patches and you get kicked by flamers and snipers while inside.

Honorable Mentions:
Mutants throwing players off the map into the void, trappers shooting nets through the smallest gaps in terrain geometry, teammates dodging a sniper shot and you getting hit by it with no audio or visual cue since you weren’t the target, hound lag compensation not working unless its target is holding block(if im remembering that one forum post correctly)

The first rule at Fatshark should be “We don’t negotiate with terrorists”.

I’m not American, I’m from a very Americanophile nation, Carlin was a brilliant man, who’s content reminds me that not all Americans are blind to flaws of the “best country in the world”.

Solo game mode promised but never delivered.
But what annoys me more than anything, is the lack of communication. Especially on this item… Not difficult to communicate with its player base… all serious companies succeed to do it. Fatshark is totally unable to do it however.

  1. Having the fun of the game ruined by OP
  2. Fatshark’s balance adjustments are painfully slow.
  3. Catering to a certain group of players leads to weapons that should clearly be nerfed being buffed instead, for some reason.

loud fast motorcycles driving through the neighborhood heck vehicles

yesh, it’s frustrating af when you do everything right, but the game just doesn’t care. especially that being bounced around and you can’t do :poop: about it.

generally, i’m highly allergic to not being in control in a game.

also regarding player agency, there’s this pet peeve of mine that we still can’t simply select missions and modifiers, or have an official solo mode to play what i want, when i want, without the “help” of teammates resembling chicken.

No twerk emote

If you mod and hate flame staff and didn’t know about this, boy have I got good news for you. This is essential:

As @Orome and @syatek said:

Sunsetting their own, mostly incredible, modifier work. Not only is actual fresh content injection just sitting there, already complete, but in a penalty box, it’s sitting there for us to gaze at while we languish about, begging for more gameplay variety that we know exists.

I’m not the biggest proponent of the most popular request for new maps because, just like classes, the sheen wears off pretty fast. I’ve played No Man’s Land ~5 times and it’s old. A nice, welcome addition, but old nonetheless. Same with Dark Communion before it. I’m content to take whatever map quickplay gives me in that regard.

But adding ALL of the ALREADY COMPLETE modifiers into a stable rotation instead of spitting in the faces of us AND the devs that did the work is very clearly a bridge too far.

At this point, what am I supposed to think besides malicious intent or abject incompe…oops, I mean inadequacy…at the managerial level when we are only allowed dogs, dogs, and more dogs at every flucking turn.

Trying to reinvent the wheel when VT2 was/is rolling already.

Whenever I try to hand a medkit/script/ect to a teammate, it almost never works. I’ll get close and hold down the button and the teammate I’m trying to give crap to will be highlighted, but then they’ll move ever so slightly and the hand-off fails even while they’re freaking highlighted and they never stand still.

then whats the take on mates good enough to clear each room and still finish under 20 minutes?

these many years in quite a good percentage of players know the map and enemy patterns inside out.

the only way to “improve” is to kill stuff the quickest :man_shrugging:
