I am torn between the ghost hits and teammates moving like snails. Ghost hits are at an ALL TIME HIGH for me. No clue if anyone else is experiencing this but I get at least 10+ ghost hits with my revolver per game now. Oh I just shot that trapper in the face at point blank and saw blood splatter? Nah, that shot doesn’t exist even though ammo is gone from your weapon!
Teammates moving like literal snails for minutes at a time, even when spawns are slow - personally for me this is extremely irritating. They’ll sit back and not progress through the level at a proper pace and then get trapped/pinned every 15 seconds requiring the team to put themselves out of position and try to save them.
Pet peeve? Oh God…I have to choose? To generalise as much as possible: Fatshark prioritising “immersive” VFX and SFX over gameplay. The core reason why almost everything on our screen looks like 3 days old yellow-brown porridge, and important from GAMEPLAY perspective audio is lost even more than usual to looped voice overs we have heard 1000 times.
Biggest pet peeve is the game pumping out massive blobs of Elites that fall over like wet paper, but because they and the Specialists are so numerous it’s just a constant senseless, mind numbing cacophony throughout the entire Auric mission that encourages players to use broken nonsense like Inferno/Voidblast, Boombringer to insta-delete them.
This is the build I currently use for Auric and it does fairly well (tad bit overpowered in some ways but nowhere like Inferno), but yeah ghost hits are an issue for me too, get em’ often on my Taxe.
Switch to Damnation with the same build and it’s a snooze fest, Elites are just way outdated and most are a joke.
Keeping the modifiers behind lock and key.
To me its the most infuriating thing in darktide because the content IS RIGHT F-ING THERE in the game right now all of it available and fully developed. But fatshark in their infinite wisdom locking it behind terrible “events” and havoc.
havoc 40 being the only thing to contain the plague of overpowered players, at the same time by using tedium such as bloated health on enemies, castrated numbers on players and some boring color code that prefers hard-counters.
meanwhile everything below is a boring rat race against the rejects in the mission instead of fighting the very enemies that are supposed to make the backbone of the game aka superior combat flow that no other game provides at the moment.
yet some cheap options spoil the experience by clearing whole rooms without skill based performance,
to the point where even i, who played almost daily since beta, took a break from the game for other more relaxing options, or pop a solo mod match from time to time to get rid of the roided spoilers
Honestly, it’s just how much Fatshark seems to hate my eyeballs. The Darkness modifier, the brilliant white flames of Flame Staff, the millions of overlays . . . they literally hurt my eyes and give me a headache. I try to avoid all darkness maps, but I can’t avoid Flame Staff . . . Had to uninstall my mod that suppressed its vfx because they were causing crashes. Haven’t felt much like playing since.
EDIT: Honorable mention to the complete lack of cue for the spawning of Twins in Havoc. I’ve seen good runs end because no one had any clue that they had spawned until they got their face smashed in.
The sad state of affairs If you want to experience any setup which is not based around one hit kill shots, this is the way. Two mods: inspect from social and inspect from party finder can help out.
There’s nothing interesting about running through barely populated levels you’ve run through tens-hundreds of times before wielding weapons that you probably don’t like because the actually fun toys are level locked. It also takes ages because XP gain is terrible.
If you’ve levelled at least 1 Class to 30 then you should just be allowed to skip it for any other class.
