It’s always harrowing when you come across a gathering of complete douches.
Being kicked because I picked up a teammate being teabagged by another certainly threw me off for two days.
But, unless you’re supremely unlucky, it is not the norm.
Still a warranted thread, it’s entertaining venting, and if there’s a problem it should be mentioned.
Edit: I can see the point in Fatsharks approach of not hitting players in the face with excessive numbers, and they do make efforts of implicit tells, like how spotting ammo will differ between “That ammo is mine” and “Templar, take some ammunition”.
Though players frequently don’t listen. Of course, once you get to high level play, numbers are very welcome.
Use numeric UI so you can see everyone’s exact ammo counts, and you know that they are talking shite.
Also taking ammo packs is not nearly as wasteful; as shooting into chaff and not using melee when possible, and thats seen way more than taking too many boxes.
I guess team experiences are as RNG as the crafting system… reflecting back on hundreds of missions thus far I’d say on average I’m a little surprised on how chill (or apathetic) most teams are.
Most times when there’s a wipe for a stupid reason like someone (me) running into a daemonhost, people don’t say anything at all as the mission ends. Sometimes there might be a “really?”… I think I can count the number of times someone went on a rant on one hand. I think I might have seen someone get kicked for a reason other than being afk like once or twice.
I’ve definitely had worse (but not unexpected) PUG experiences in other games. Wish I had the same luck with crafting.
how is leaving the game - result in, getting acess to ingame chat?
I guess i have been lucky, i have barely ran into any abrasive players, especially not when it comes to voice or text chat.
I think the only kinda toxic player i have ran into in the last month was a stealth/knife zealot that decided to speed run the mission where you gotta put in the cryo rods at the end, he basically activated every enemy pod which then ended up bee lining straight to me and the two other players.
I was gonna initiate a kick but it was kinda fun to have to three man all the stuff he activated so i just let it go, but once we caught up to him in the first event he placed himself on a cheese spot and was just jumping up and down while he watched the rest of us fight, so thats when we kicked him.
Oh and i had a guy in quickplay try to blow us up with barrels at every opportunity.
Yeah in general the closest I’ve gotten to toxicity was an orgryn arguing with a separate vet after joining a doomed T5 Auric run and a guy post game who was like “Hey dude, good frag bombs but you kind of grabbed every grenade” at which point i went “My bad, Ogryn Gaming” and went on with my day.
I don’t really think the ammo indication is a problem as i mostly use it to point out if people need ammo or are low HP, usually going “Hey do you want the med station? I have like 200 hp left and you are down to 23” or judging from looking how badly people need ammo vs if i would waste it on a pickup.
Honestly even times where I’ve absolutely bumbled something easy ive never gotten straight up yelled at but im also playing after work on the NA server and mostly play team oriented on T5 or T5+
I have a different problem - I’m trying to be ammo conscious when I play vet and helpful as a psyker (I mark every can and bag I see).
There is this weird phenomena: when I see ammo and see other guy on orange, I just ping ammo and leave a marker. Imagine my surprise when someone is ignoring ammo I’ve been constantly marking and suddenly now (red ammo counter) starts to snuffs every box/can/bag they can find… You just couldn’t pick it up before to keep a steady level, because you had to set new record for the map speed run and to hell with ammo, plasteel and scriptures?! UGH.

And here is me because of bad aim with bolter.
I would talk, but people around me IRL don’t want to here it. The key-tapping and swearing is bad enough! Besides when people do speak what they say is vague (“over here”) and I never know which player they are or which character. At least the DT community seems to know about push-to-talk which is more than some I’ve experienced.
Heck if i know i wasn’t the one that did it. He said he was switching to ingame chat. Left party to do said switch and poof.
Couple minutes later he texts me that his xbox is a peice of s**t.
If he had to manually leave chat to talk in regular voice chat(he didn’t, there literally a button in party chat to switch to game chat without leaving the chat server) im assuming you guys are on Xbox. You dont really need to mess with discord to talk in game and only xbox chat is called party chat. I don’t understand how your friend left the game on accident, that’s basically impossible unless his game crashed so i find it hard to believe. Also not sure why you didnt just switch yourself and say he said it was fine. Out of curiosity, was your whole team on xbox?
Im on US East and never seen anything like this, but he is on xbox so that kind of explains it, Xbox community is alot more toxic from my experience.
My series S has crashed to home screen a few times when going throuth the menus a bit too fast while also running a game. As to the team we were both xbox and i think one of them was xbox one was pc.
While that is good advice, i dont think these 2 instances warrant addressing imo, they are both easily remedied by simply saying “You guys dont need Grenade pickups, yours regenerate, mine do not” or “Im in chat with him, he said I could take them.” Honestly done these exact same things in discord and never had an issue so I feel like he was just unlucky and ran into the flunkies.
He is on xbox, no mods
Pretty sure they added it in as a default UI turn-on in Vermintide, not sure why this game’s UI took such a step backwards when they literally had all the answers to the tests from all the mods people put on Vermintide and the mods they added in.
I assume his xbox crashed, theres no reason to do this
Yeah, ive seen this trait the most recently, people ignoring my ammo pings and running straight by satchels of ammo to then complain later. Its just bad players and unfortunately there’s not really a system to like rate how badly a player is to warn their future teammates, like the other day i had a level 27 in Heresy with gray weapons who just W keyed into death over and over.
Yeah the S has alot of issues with the newer games since it came out. I think you should probably wave off those 2 encounters as bad actors, your whole comment section here is people saying they have only had 1 or 2 encounters with people like this so i would say its just bad luck. I’ve had experience with a lot of bad players in Heresy but typically they aren’t toxic just bad or underleveled/undergeared.
sweeping statements based on two examples.
