What happened to tuning the Convocation and Brachsenbrücke ending events?

I used to think this till I adjusted my strategies. You know how most people bring sniper ranged weapons or weapons that can conserve ammo fairly well? I found my teams had great success on bracksenbrucke when they said fk it and just went for blunderbuss/grudgeraker and stuff like that. Being able to 1 shot the monks is a huge win.

Another adjustment our team made that helped us win was taking it slow. Once the cannonball spawns run to it, but stick together. When the stormvermin/specials/monks get on you deal with them first before moving. Same applies once you grab the cannonball.

Too often I see people split in an attempt to rush the cannonball to the cannon. In itʻs current iteration this is NOT the way to go unless youʻre like jsat or something. Once one person dies or gets downed in bracksenbrucke finale, itʻs VERY easy for everyone else to follow suit.

It´s not unbeatble, I´ve gotten around to succesfully beating Brachsenbrücke this patch a few times. It´s just that what is required to beat it is not required on any other map except one or two. It demands more from you in terms of skill, team composition and so on than the other legend maps, even the Boss maps, which is weird.

Convocation of Decay has become also very difficult for me. The numbers of Elites got a bit increased, but the amount of specials they are throwing at you, oh boy! Especially Blightstormers are bad. They can cover a LOT of space in the soup, which can make you jump off the kettle, therefore split your group and those disablers will start to throw a party.

I don’t think it’s as insanely hard as some people are saying, but building for specific events isn’t really possible in QP. I think the main part I dislike about fort is just that it’s a big spike compared to other maps with no real way to prepare for it, it would be less of an issue if we had a loadout chest at the start. As it is though you’re pretty much guaranteed to lose some books on legend, even if you’re playing super well.

Yes , @LordGiggles has nailed it very well.
Atm I’m playing FB with my less used toons to complete my legend challenges. Currently the maps I need more are FB and AY. While AY is a matter of matchmaking because it’s less available, it seems I cannot complete FB.
I play in QP only or so because of my work (I do night shifts) and while with the right group, right builds and the right strategy you can certainly complete the map even if perhaps with the loss of 1 book or 2, the problem is it’s need too much perfection.
There’s no room for mistakes at all. And this is bad because, being the finale, you can play perfectly for 20 minutes then a single mistake can throw your run out of the window.

The problem is the usual one with Fatshark: they think that difficulty = “more of everything”, but this is not difficulty, it’s frustration.

When you complete the map you aren’t satisfied because you overcome the obstacle: it’s more the sense of enjoyment when someone who’s hammering your dongliz misses the hit

I quote myself to add one thing. Recently I played Fort Brachsenbrucke after a while and… has it been buffed with a “ghost patch”? Because with 2.0.15 patch it seemed balanced… but now it’s again totally broken.

They rebalanced a bunch of the end events again when 2.0.15 went from beta to live. I assume that’s when this went back to being much harder

Yep, I think it too…

Thatʻs true, but my other point still stands. Iʻve also had wins where we take it slow rather than rushing (w/o specific builds). Sometimes communication is all it takes to turn a risky run around.

Yep, and honestly you can push through solo a lot of the time, but it’s still just a massive spike compared to other maps, and it sucks to lose books because of that. I don’t really mind so much on cata, though I still think the maps should all roughly be in the same range.

Maybe if FB had alternative exits out of the Fort after the event rather than the very, very narrow broken gate that constantly has stormvermin and monks pouring in would alleviate a little of the frustration of the ending. But yes, the elites spawns at the cannonball stage should be staggered a little more between monks and stormvermin.

This also reflects on the Lobbies right now. Futter Barschgesicht gets the same treatment as a few months ago Skittergate:
Suicide ASAP or just leaving the Lobby.

They definitely changed when WoM came out. Personally, I liked the difficulty, although to be fair they were really hard. But making non-boss level finales hard is something I thought would be good from the beginning for variety mostly. Although I don’t think they all need to be hard, having some tough examples of each gives levels of difficulty to each style of map, and gives something for every kind of player. They provide a different kind of challenge; mostly about teamwork, and generally playing your class, role, and again major emphasis on the teamwork, which is probably the rarest trait in PUGs (to be fair it’s not really necessary until Cata).

Was the difficulty also increased for Veteran difficulty? According to the Lobby browser a ton of new players started recently.
I hope they are ambitious… Well they should be anyway.
