I’ve seen a couple posts here that have been “acknowledged”, including my own post but I am not seeing anything else in terms of a response. Are they fixing it or have they simply gone “yup, you have a problem”?
No one knows. Some tings that are aknowledged are actual bugs. Some things that are aknowledged are later (randomly, in unconnected blog posts) revealed to be intended. Some things that are aknowledged ends up fixed within 1 to 10 months later.
means a community manager forwarded it to the correct team and they sent back an “okay”. weather it will be fixed, accepted as working as intended, ignored, of forgotten because of other demands isn’t something they relay to the CM’s whose job is only to deal with the public, not handle followups.
its like the journey of a letter, but half way through a laser printer shoots your recorded complaint straight into an open furnace.
One thing is certain. It means someone employed at Fashark has read your post. Anything else is speculation.
I would imagine it means they logged it as a known issue, it doesn’t mean they plan to resolve it or what priority any resolution would have.
I reported the bug: “rumble does not work on controllers” during the closed beta of October 2023.
They acknowledged it.
16 months later. 16 months. Almost 1.5 years later. 5 semesters later. 6 POE leagues later. The birth of 2 children later.
Still just acknowledged.
It means the community support team has looked at it and inputted it into our report logging system. This system is then used for prioritization or triage and also helps us log replication of the report.
Thanks for clarifying!
Any idea why something like the “rumble not working on controllers” is taking years to fix? I get you might have “bigger problems”, but I think that argument goes both ways…it shouldn’t take that long because it isn’t a big problem. I can’t remember the last fps I played in the last 20 years that did NOT have rumble support🤔
Thank you Aqshy (and, long time no see)! This is a succinct, detailed explanation. Even a small peek behind the curtain like this is really helpful.
Oh shoot, I thought this was the V2 forum. RIP.
So I can’t really say too much on what goes on in Darktide as I don’t work on it, but at least V2 side, usually it’s due to a handful of reasons:
- The issue is taking longer than expected to figure out
- The issue is pushed down in the priority list to make room for the developers to address more pressing issues (such as crashes, etc) who would otherwise be responsible for that fix
- The issue is resolved but waiting to be rolled into a more extensive patch/build
- On console, the issue is resolved, but is in the cert process
Again, I can’t really speak too heavily on Darktide as I’m not usually poking my nose into there (except here where it was an accident, whoops!); but hope this gives some context into some of the triage that happens with the acknowledged tag!
Thanks! Any reply with actual info is much appreciated.
