So I always keep low stacks and only use one stack on VE. The 2s electrocution control effect within a 12m radius can be somewhat useful for the team’s survivability. I think it is worth sacrificing some damage output in exchange for the team’s survival. Additionally, the critical hit rate provided by ACD is only 15%. Even without using ACD, you can still get 22% critical hit rate from the keystone FP and Last Stand Relay.
Yeah I was excited for the idea of trans fat blades but crowbar is way more exciting for me and even that is a dull ashh weapon to use (but a big part of that is just building bigger and bigger hyper violence). Its like having the bad parts of both shivs active all the time and switching between them.
Maybe we should stop comparing anything to hive scum, but they also got the knife which is way great with cleave/rending/freaking electrocution possibility.
ACD scales to 30% pretty fast, especially when you take into account it doesn’t drain while you reload so if you see a group coming you can often activate the ability, reload, and by the time the group reaches you you will be at full +30% for both fire rate and crit rate. Also even at full fire rate bonus your clip lasts 12 seconds so a 4 second ramp up is not that much..
That is valid but again better for a melee build with more capacitance talents. Just spamming VE all game is solid especially when paired with arc maul, great damage and good utility/team support. But the build I linked is the best for pure DPS.
DClaw also gets Skullcrusher and due to Electrostrike Conduit it’s finally useful. Probably still a meme though.
True, forgat about that, have never been a DC enjoyer. Arc brittle stacking to 40% is also a bug I’ve been told, supposed to be a one time thing at 10%
If that is true and Fatshark decides it needs to be fixed, the class will instantly become a lot less viable. Being able to stack 40% brittle on crits is a very strong enabler for many of the builds.
Not perfect, and still working things out but for horde try this:
(Special if in elite mode) → L1-H2-L3-repeat
H2 has sprint tech.
For single target/armour just rotate heavies after the switch to ST mode.
I mean the idea behind trans blades sounded good on paper, but is just a gimmick in its current iteration. The mode you are in is nigh impossible to determine at a glance without the use of mods, swapping cancels sprint, and the artifically limited cleave is annoying af.
I find myself just staying in duel mode most of the time, utilizing the PA light for cleave when needed. I love simple yet somewhat complex tide weapons, billhook is the bestest ever, but this just feels convoluted for the reason of being so. A lot like scum saw and crowbar, overcomplicated for no reason.
Adapting to combat situations should come from using the correct combos, rather than pressing sluggish buttons. To me, this is just another attempt at reinventing the wheel that already worked flawless in VT2.
You really just need to use it more. I never have issues with knowing what mode I am in.
This is why you dont think the weapon is good lol.
Its a very smooth transition same as most power weapons, and it has a great attack out of switch that makes it feel rather satisfying.
It really seems like you just haven’t played with them enough and just bounced off of them before getting a feel for them. They are incredibly powerful weapons, with the right build they are even comparable to shivs, and they have mobility to match. They flow very well in combat as well once you get used to the mode switching and honestly it doesn’t take very long.
Modeswap is a gimmick created with players unable (unwilling?) to memorize weapon combos in mind. Getting used to it doesn’t make it any less so.
skitarii in havoc basically play veterans position, but due to lack of smoke he cant deal with gunner and shooter as good as veteran. I wont say skitarii is competely useless in havoc, but he do can be completely substitute by veteran
If so, that’s a really strange bug. Only Arc Maul’s regular attacks don’t stack System Shock and it doesn’t refresh it until Electrocute has worn off. Every other instance of Skitarii’s Electrocute stacks/refresh it.
It’s fairly flexible, it’s hard to squeeze out a tank frontliner out of that class, but everything else is pretty solid, but comparatively squishy to other classes. You can build for:
- A boss Killer with claw
- A pretty solid anti-elite (as above)
- Arc based disruptor (all things electrocute / arc and Emitter) which melts melee elites, and shuts down range enemies. With the personal shield you can just walk into range packs and fire the Emitter.
- A tin vet
It’s a new squishy class, so people drop like flies and panic quite a bit. Let the dust settle, allow Fatshark fix the most glaring issues, and I’m sure we see some adjustments, as with other classes.
