What can we expect in 1.8.5?

I really hope they fix the Arbites tree not working properly. As it is Im having trouble clearing Sedition with him and I think he needs a bit of a power boost.

The problem with this is that the class has never worked properly since its release. And since we paid money for it, there is even a legal claim for this in the EU.

A nerf together with the fix would mean that we never received the class as it was advertised and sold. This clearly violates EU consumer protection law. This could result in consumer protection complaints and lawsuits. And consumer protection complaints in particular are free of charge and, in most cases, can be made quickly online. I don’t know if Fatshark, as an EU company, wants to risk that.

By the way, if the class had been free, the situation would be different.

I’ll just wait and see what happens.

No, that’s not how it works. The class wasn’t sold with the talent tree being set in stone.

Who would you consider to be a damnation level player?
Im not being provocative or argumentative, I’m genuinely interested cause i usually consider myself a damnation player.
I hardly ever die, unless it’s some catastrophic f**k up, or get thrown out of the map. But i do still die occasionally.
How can a player known when to attempt auric?

I’d say it’s the same as for every difficulty: If you can confidently clear missions you enter and when others go down you can still salvage the situation. (Not saying you should be able to solo, but can revive/rescue). If you have scoreboard, you should frequently have least damage taken.

If you can do that and you want additional challenge. Then it’s time to try the next one.

I’m not saying this is what it should be, but that would be my recommendation.

I don’t know man, that sounds like a lot of work. How about some more shïtty cosmetics instead?

I definitely want my zealot to be dressed like a combination of a Renaissance-era recreationist and MC Hammer.

You know, as one does.

The difference between OP and balanced is tiny…
There’s just a need for few nerfs and we’re good.

As they said they plan to release more balance patches than one every 3 months, I suppose we will have soon one… or we should already have one… because, Fatshark may not have noticed it, but Arbitrators were released 2 months ago…

They said it…

I really would like that they define “more frequent

basic minimum i still see lacking (and it makes me furious) is knowing the maps inside out.

least thing is to keep up with experienced players and be able to get carried without dragging the match over 30 minutes.

know where to be when to be and use the path that gets cleared in front of you.

the most basic, passive, piggybacking playstyle.

not pretty by any means but manageable :man_shrugging:

now for the autonomous playstyle:

know enemy patterns and priorities

disabler > area denial > ranged enemies > melee

disabler:

trapper>dog(>mutant if you count him as temporary disabler)

area denial:

bomber>flamer>toxbomber

ranged:

sniper>gunner>shotgunner

this way you do your part taking pressure off the team and make the path forward riddled with less obstacles, lest a wipe more unlikely.

know your character and talents

and get your loadout optimized, heck it’s not even about “meta” yet i see green weapons with t2 blessings in I II V E Gs…..

know when to use your ults and when to save it for 10 seconds longer….

all this and you can stroll through auric maelstrom without bothering about other players deficiencies.

This is infuriating to me and I want a hard gatekeeping for this. Block players who didn’t at least upgrade their weapon to 500 from playing Auric.

Edit: I just realize people roll low peril on purge staff on purpose though.

90% of the newer players just jump to it when they see it unlocked. There was a reddit thread some time ago “shaming” poor little newbies, some don’t even have skill points allocated or weapons above green/blue. There was a screenshot of some guy who just put a point in every single skill node above the ability for psyker, probably because they didn’t know that it is possible to scroll down. Thanks cross-play!

lol Auric. How about this for mid-level Havoc?

The guys died instantly and left btw.

Another one to chalk up to FS not explaining anything in their game.

Just someone who doesnt fold like wet paper at every battle.

I had a game recently which is a good example which I will link below. Two of them almost literally constantly die or put themselves in bad positions and they arent unfriendly, thankful even!.. ..but I cant help teabagging one of them before I get them up yet again. (Im a bit of a :poop:, I know  ) best thing is my character keeps saying stuff like “You really are an embarrassment” :joy: (one at 21m45s in)

The third guy is fine, he goes down once or twice, :poop: happens, but overall Id say he is the perfect example of a Damnation ready player.

Damnation Game

Funny moment at 17m where I get thrown by a mutie then bounced by a Plogryn stomp out of some fire. Good times.

While its frustrating, I kinda enjoy these games although I am acutely aware that me and the other decent player are pulling these two ever closer to playing Auric

Gotta say, in my opinion FS shsres a bog portion of the responsibility for not explaining anything to new players beyong the “advanced” tutorial.
If i didn’t have the patience to watch guides in youtube and read on the forum/reddit, i would have probably given up.
Having a better player retention also contributes to them getting better at the game.

Not to mention the old tutorials are outdated and misleading. For example it still teaches you to run up to gunners to tie them up in melee, when in reality it no longer works unless you stagger or suppress them because Gunners are now able to shoot at you at point blank like the Reapers always could.

Point 1, 3 and 4 exactly right. Point 2 I’m sure is right as well. Wait and see. Point 5 was expecting too much.

Sort of, the segment for tie up in melee uses scab shooters.

If you have unspent talent points, the game displays a warning. When you unlock Hadron, there are cutscenes and it gives you an objective to interact with the shrine. There is difficulty level gating now, so you have to at least be competent enough to win enough matches to advance. For the most part (outside of bugs lol) the descriptions on talents and blessings accurately describe what they do.

They do fail to explain what keywords/mechanics in those talents/blessings mean. Like what is rending and how is it different than brittleness (how would you know they’re related)? Difference between strength increase and damage increase? Why does +crit damage not behave how you’d think? And so on. These should probably be in the game in some capacity. Still I think these things only inhibit optimal min/maxing and not how to play the game or engage with all its systems.

Ultimately, I don’t think the UX is hostile to players and in every other game I have played, if you want truly advanced knowledge of how things work, you’re reading wikis or forums or watching guides etc. Particularly if you want to play at the highest difficulties in games with any sort of complexity.
