We've been duped!

There’s a mod on the workshop that unlocks all hats on the modded realm. A good half of all the hats this mod seems to unlock, I’ve never seen ingame, and I can only assume don’t actually drop. A small amount of them being unfinished (roughly 3 out of 100+) supports that theory.

Infact, you can find a lot of the hats they showed in the trailers, such as this (saltz from the original PC trailer: Imgur: The magic of the Internet), this (slayer, same: Imgur: The magic of the Internet) or this (kruber from the xbox trailer: Imgur: The magic of the Internet),

There’s even stuff like the bogenhafen bonnet available on merc kruber, which I’ve always wondered why it’s not a multi-career hat.

This is by far not all of them, there’s a ton for every career… just a selection of really neat ones that I found and wanted to show while making this post.

All I’m left to wonder is… why? Why are these finished items in the game, but not available to obtain? You can’t say “these are newly made and they’re just about to release them” because some of them are as old as the pre-release trailer. Are they withholding content to “release” later? All of them are perfectly finished (except for 3: A zealot hood with some minor clipping, a sienna hat that is hilariously sideways, aswell as a sienna hat that crashes the game). I’d like some thoughts on this. To me it seems like a sh*tty thing to do, especially considering the incredibly low droprates of 1.1% per box you get every 3 games or so, so effectively near 0.3% per game won.

Please do correct me if I’m wrong and you’ve seen them ingame, that’s what this whole post is based around. I play a lot in quickplay solo and never once have.

They need to add in a crafting system, or a way to obtain them from completing so many daily challenges or something. I can show all of mine, they’re all elf hats because I open all my level up chests from every class on her. 500+ hours and I’ve only got a handful. Give me a few mins and I’ll upload them all.

So here’s everything I’ve got opening all my level up chests on the elf since the start of the game.

So you are suggesting there MIGHT be something off with the loot-rng when it comes to the cosmetics? Impossible!

So after showing my “small” amount of hats I got from 500 hours of game time. I clicked on the reddit link and I kinda feel like a díck now. There’s people with 700 hours and not a single hat… god damn

If we don’t release hats before there is an equal amount of hats for each career people get angry.

There really is no winning besides being less transparent and hiding all hats until all are done I guess.

Yeah, you’ve been extremely lucky. I’m just peaking 600, and I’ve got one hat from drop. I mean, that is just unbelievable and needs a fix.

Honestly, the game already suffers from little content. Wheres the harm in at least letting us enjoy the content. Every thread, every fan, has been complaining that there isn’t enough hats. And now we find out that there is content, somewhere buried in there, only it is locked out. Why even have the files in the game?

The ‘new and improved’ drop rate for hats is also proving to be truly abysmal and just another layer of insane RNG in this game. Going on my drop rate so far, I’d need tens of thousands of hours to get even the hats that are available now.

Hey Robin completely unrelated but are you allowed to answer why there’s hats fully implemented in the game but not on the drop table? They look less glitchy than “official” hats like the Kruber FK and Bardin Ranger because the ears clip outside the metal on those.

There are different reasons, some are saved as exclusive rewards of upcoming events. Some are simply that we want to where possible release entire sets of hats for all careers when we add them to the loot table as to not play favorites among the careers/characters. I don’t exactly what hats that have leaked into the game so I don’t know which is the case with these particular hats.
