Weapon customisation - what is that

Please no.
They may listen to the community and respond in kind eventually, but only after making absolutely boneheaded, dumbfounding decisions that cause an outcry in the first place.
I also would not trust their competency. They are absolutely shite at QC, if they even practice it. And there has not been a single minute of HD2 lifespan without several active, game experience altering bugs.

It would absolutely be a wait and see situation if they moved to another engine.
And I loved every minute of my HD1 experience, but I got to it late in its life after most kinks were worked out and systems iterated upon.

Conversely, coming to Darktide, I get a mostly smooth and consistent, top-notch FPS experience and have to pick and choose how much I let FS’s lack of communication and frustrating external system decisions bother my minute to minute fun.

It’s extremely clear to me which choice I prefer.

Since you are German, I was wondering out of curiosity if you were able to obtain an uncensored version of “Manhunt”?

One of my best friends as teenagers relocated from Germany to Sweden, and some of the censored games he brought with him were hilarious.

I can’t remember what the game was called now, but it was kinda like a 3D version of the “Commandos” games: you had a couple of characters that were good at different things, but it was in 3rd person instead of top down like in “Commandos”, and in the German version, instead of gore, when you or the enemy died, your character plopped out of existence and a rucksack fell to the floor where you died.

Aye, that i did
our enemy number 1 was the head of the “BPJS” ironically an ugly woman named “Monsen-Engberding” and a “thing” it literally was.

kinda like the one from goonies mixed with jabba the hut.

and just like any dictator it was our holy duty to oppose censorship with any means necessary.

now granted there were some “loopholes” such as buying or trying to buy being on the “legal side”, not that we would have bothered much anyways, and only the selling publicly subject to prosecution as a minor offense.

there were online stores such as gameware.at located in austria outside german jurisdiction who literally gave them the finger, which we celebrated of course, okaysoft also helped getting uncut versions reliably.

usually i ordered the hot titles 3 times to make sure 1 passed borders and if 3 came i gladly bought em all as an additional :fu: to the censors.

my favorite in manhunt was the sickle in the genitals, basically gutting the dude from behind.

laughed and giggled every time, neighbours must have thought we were watching some “comedy”

soldier of fortune likewise was a “crown jewel” but the whole wolfenstein franchise i took pride in having completely uncut

only 2 dlc’s eluded me back in the day, since usual sources werent listing them:

wages of sin
and the ryder white dlc for dead island.

other than that, my collection was pretty “complete” :face_with_monocle:

commandos wasnt my cup of tea, though being a piece for the “collection” of course i got the uncut version just to flip the bird to the bpjs, had swastika flags as it should be and corpses to drag.

cant say for sure what title you think of, since i literally never bought a censored version of anything, sorry.

speaking of swastikas, to show the sheer idiocracy of german censorship:
back in the day i had a faible for ww2 themed 1:6 scale figures, playing battlefield, medal of honor and of course wolfenstein to get me in the mood.

so, buying “historically correct” figures from dragon or bbi was completely legal, no one bat an eye it was almost “boring”

but lo and behold swastikas in a video game?!? dear lord ze germans are marching again :scream:

lot of games i sold again over the years, to fund newer rigs for example guess must have been over 100 titles for snes and genesis alone.

then again, emulators make it easy to play the “forbidden stuff of old” from a mere browser so nothing is ever lost

now the real hard part back in the day was staying long enough in an arcade, underaged mind you, to play titles like mortal kombat 3 when they werent released on console yet.

that took tremendous “beard growing” and undercover skills :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

i say just release the Weapon Customization Mod, into the base game. as its already mostly implemented, within the system. then make extra parts available when you buy the cosmetics for weapons.

You would imagine that if the Imperium can afford giving relic weapons to a bunch of rejects those would come with decent iron sights and basic flashlights.

well to be fair in 2018 the USK censorship in games got reevaluated and NS symbols are Legal to depict (they now fall under the same as Movie and art depictions)
with the exceptions being glorifying them

why they would be illegal in the first place yet schools do all this effort to educate younsters measuring with your right arm how high the gras grows is bad is beyond me.

:squinting_face_with_tongue:

nazis bad mkay but we cant show em, thats how bad they are…

one would think an educated mind makes profound decisions

well depictions for educational purposes never were banned its just that video games in particular didn’t count as educational valuable, classic Germany being run by people without any media competency

imagine germany without that :poop: and texan open carry license… :squinting_face_with_tongue:

Only got 400+ hours myself but I am in the same boat. The store rotation fomo and the monopoly money are the two main reasons why I refuse to spend anything on cosmetics.

I’ll buy the Arbiter class DLC when it drops as it’ll be purchasable with my money via the Steam Store.

speaking of forgotten weapons, you have to watch this and read the comments:

so yeah, shredder autopistol needs a bayonet for more accurate warhammering.

Obviously Obesetuna does not learn. Ever. Because if they had then they wouldn’t be stuck with only three titles to their name that sell, and those only barely surviving courtesy of having landed a license to the golden goose of online gaming IPs. By this point most studios would have called an all-hands meeting, dragged in a small army of consultants and experts, and put one question to them.

“What the hell are we doing wrong?”

Instead this company is not only repeating its own mistakes, Fatshark is actively copying the worst decisions of other studios. Plan your income around a FOMO-based shop? Hello, been done to death in mobile to the point where a lot of people see it and go “hell no”. Gearing the majority of your “new” “content” for (being generous) 10% of your playerbase? Might want to hold a seance to ask Brad McQuaid how well that worked in EQ (hint; it got his rear fired). Not communicating with the players who aren’t white knighting for you because you can’t handle pointed critism? I think Blizzard tried that. Didn’t work out for them either. Those being just a few examples.

At this point one might have to consider that Fatshark is staking literally everything on this mysterious “new IP”. To the point were they are intentionally trying to kill off anything tied to the Warhammer license. If so then I wish them a good trip. Straight to hell.

VT2 was more popular than VT and DT is more popular than VT2. This is just mope.

The massive reviewbombing, related to the mandated PSN account changes, had nothing to do with AH and was entirely on Sony. Sony didn’t even tell AH about this plan and AH heared about it the same day the community did.

This is factually not a mistake of AH. That didn’t stop Pilestedt from taking some accountability via a tweet but it’s just not their fault.

That is not to say that they made 0 mistakes, they made plenty. AH or more accurately, their discord moderators, did start out with antagonizing it’s players but after listening to feedback and weeding out the bad apples in their moderation teams, they turned all of that around.

That is something that pretty much nobody else can boast about.

That was the first review-bombing campaign, certainly.

What point are you making exactly?

He wants weaapon customization.

But looks like he wants a LOT more.

(I want new maps btw).
