Weapon customisation - what is that

I have a bit over 1000 hours. I’ve never bought a cosmetic. I want to support the game, but I refuse to interact with premium currency.

And some were dumb enough to buy Imperial edition while already owning a paid beta (and also bought some cosmetics - not as many as they would have wanted to). Hi.

Yeah, I’m a dumbass should have kept wallet closed at all times, but the cursaider armour was the closest to SoB power armour and the Vox-caster was also tempting…

It’s not that good in Helldivers, I’ve already played one operation of the new update.

Their weapon customization is basically varying scopes and -10 recoil mod to a gun with an already low recoil. It will take multiple updates to actually make this system deep and interesting to engage with.

You can’t even mod secondaries, and some primaries only have scopes and paintjobs, and not a single mod that changes how the weapon plays or feels.

I would be happy with two duct-taped magazines or powerpacks or possiblity to attach bayonet, scope/red- dot and torch to your rifle (gasp! At the same time!). Some wear and tear skins. Or mastercrafted skins. Hi charge batteries. Hellpacks. Different types of ammunition. Different barrels. Different stocks. Etc. Etc.

The fork gives -20 hunger if you kill bugs and +50 self-electrocution if you fight Automatons.

Yeah, I got my money’s worth, but I still lament all the missed potential. Look at DRG and Helldivers 2.

FS is a shameful underperformer in comparison.

I used to use it to get stacks of HH up fast. That’s not needed anymore though. Would love a torch.

I have been playing computer games since the early 2000s, and I can assure you that game developers back then would not get away as easily as devs nowadays do when they deliver weak products!


I see what you’re saying, but as someone who was born in 1986, I found it hilarious that you’ve been “playing computer games since 2000s”. xD

Also, game developers pulled just as much crap back then. All those NES and Genesis cartridges, not to mention the C64 and Amiga floppy boxes with awesome artwork, and you, a kid, had been whining at your mother for a week to borrow a game from the video game store for the weekend, and when she finally relented and you got home and put that bad boi into your NES/Genesis/Intellivision, whatever, that game that you were so excited about absolutely sucked!

Not to mention all the horrible games from the 2000s, like Septerra Core.

For as many good games as there were back then, the same number, if not more, were really bad, broken, and unplayable, for example Uncanny X-Men for NES. Even when PCs took over the gaming market after being a laughing stock throughout the late 80s and mid 90s, and into the 2000s, you would be extremely lucky if game developers released even one patch that fixed a game-breaking bug.

I’m not saying that games aren’t horrible right now, but you’re seeing things through rose-colored glasses.

Remember that for every Diablo 1 - 2, Secret of Mana, Harvest Moon, Super Mario World, Double Dragon, Fatal Fury, Killer Instinct, Clayfighter, Bucky o’Hare, Blaster Master, Nintendo World Cup, and so on, you had even more bad games to deal with as a child.

There were no streams or a large internet community to help decide whether a game was worth buying or a scam.

Every NES game purchase was like playing Russian roulette.
