Was this playing cheating?

No, I’m experienced. I just don’t socialize with min-maxer types and tryhards normally. And I could care less if I accused him of hacking. Dude was exploiting game mechanics either way and being a total selfish Dbag while he was doing it. How you have sympathy for such a creature is beyond me.

No, you are not. The build he runs is one of the most popular zealot builds (because like an entire 3rd of the zealot tree nudges you to run that build), so the fact that you didn’t recognize it and called it “niche” kinda shows.

Which mechanics?

I don’t. He’s an ahole. But on the recording you wasnt less of an ahole.

knife stealth build obviously?!
what is not “exploitive” by nature, but can used to be a bad team member.

funny how they redacted some penances to avoid bad teamplay in pubs, but allow stealth builds

Biggest L from patch 13 was putting in the VT2 stealth mechanics into this game.

Can’t unf*ck that genie though (yeah, that’s definitely how that saying goes) so now we gotta just live with the consequences.

I barely play zealot and when I do, the last build I would consider would be some inglorious sneak build. Honestly I don’t even understand from a lore perspective why a zealot would EVER be seen fighting in such a way.

He used his speed and stealth to engage in an unintended style of gameplay to the detriment of the fun of all others involved.

So calling out an ahole is also being an ahole? By that definition, aren’t you doing the same thing?

Little side note, I love that bandicam is still being used considering it came out in 2009 ^^

In all fairness, being ahole isn’t exactly a mutually exclusive thing, one can absolutely be an ahole in response to someone else being an ahole.

Mr “You cannot call others weak, and use mods”, he is a knife stealth zealot, and you are apparently a person with very limited game knowledge.

A lot of hassle while there is simple solution:

  1. When you encounters try-hard speeder trying to farm Monday things, just kick him.

  2. Or just tell to other players if they are not try-hard speeder to slow down or stop near end of map and make sure the other guy will rage quit or waste his time, he was useless anyway running away.

Anyway, if someone wants to speed run, he should make pre-made and speed run. If someone expects with randoms that everyone will keep his pace (especially on Malice lol…) becasue he needs to complete his Malks - he is an toxic idiot.

I play exclusively Zealot, but I feel the same way. Leaving any heretics alive is unbecoming.

Yet, you have to admit that under certain circumstances, speed and stealth can accomplish things that would not otherwise be possible. Shameful, yes. But a tool in the Inquisition arsenal nonetheless. Therefore it warrants your begrudging respect.

I mean, here we are. Basically confirming what i was saying. Either extremely new, or unexpirienced.

That “unintended” style of gameplay is the entire 1/3rd right side of the zealot tree. Now, not saying he used the toolkit in the correct way, because stealth zealot can and should be used to help your team, but anyway.

No. You can do so without sounding like an ahole. That’s the whole point. Instead you literally started by accusing someone of cheating, which he clearly wasn’t.
Anyway, as pretty much everyone was saying, the best way to deal with those players is not to engage with them at all. Just pretend you have a 3-man party, and that’s it.

If it aint broke, no need to replace it.

And somebody can punch someone in response to being punched by them and it’s perfectly socially acceptable.

Already addressed:

I only found out there was a kick function during this thread. shrug

But why zealot though? I get stealth veteran but stealth zealot doesn’t make sense to me. I mean on principle zealots tend to actively try to be as conspicuous as possible. They even go to battle with loud speakers blasting hyms at full volume often times.

INexperienced

And again, wrong.
806.5 hrs played on Vermintide.
600 hrs played on Darktide.

I’m no sweaty tryhard but I am not a new or inexperienced player.

Right so Fat Shark was designing the Zealot tree and thinking “Perfect! Now we can allow zealots to stealth through entire levels without fighting anything just like we always wanted the class to do!”

Somehow I doubt it…

The video started like halfway through the run…You missed a lot.

i just had that image in my head, when a regiment of zealots with a Selector playing Hyms in the back, suddely hit the mute button to whisper to everyone through the mic to be silent now as they aproach the enemies fortress :joy:

Hours is a pretty bad indicator of game mechanic knowledge, nothing stops you from getting all those hours on the lowest difficulty and learn very little. What is a good indicator is your actions and responses so-far which as many commenters here have pointed out so I wont. Basically you should stop replying and let this post necro while learning from it to either kick or hold your composure, anything beyond here will just be people using you for reactions.

If thats how 600 hours looks like then you need another 600 to call yourself experienced:

  • shooting poxburster in the face at push distance damaging yourself and another player
  • shooting stalkers while your mate is 8 meters behind you under a dog
  • attacking mutants while you have VoC off cooldown instead of using it to push him away and helping another player
  • fighting trash mobs with player netted 2 meters behind you
-600 hours in and not knowing that there is a kick option?
  • not even once using VoC?
Dude, i know you will find excuses for all of this but you are not experienced player and considering your replyes? You are immune to advices how to improve.
Dont get me wrong, this zealot would be vote kicked in first 5 minutes of the match in any other game or i would leave, he was an end of an donkey, but considering yourself an experienced player and not knowing zealot mechanics about stealth and how fast they can be? No, just no.
