Vet's "Always Prepared" granting too little ammo

Issue Description:
“Always Prepared” should grant 25% extra ammo, it grants less for several tested weapons (and possibly all of them, but I didn’t check for that). For some its’ effectiveness is cut in HALF, from 25% to 12,5%!

Some examples:

MG XII Infantry: base is 484, with AP should be 605, is 585 (121%)
Mk II Plasma: base is 224, with AP should be 280, is 252 (112.5%)
Mk IX Headhunter: base is 397, with AP should be 496, is 485 (122%)
Mk III Shredder: base is 589, with AP should be 736, is 723 (122%)

Steps to Reproduce:
Equip a ranged weapon and note the total ammo pool without selecting Always Prepared in the tree, then select AP and compare the new ammo amount with base

Mission Name (If Applicable):
n/a

Platform:
Steam

Approx. Time of Issue & Timezone:
n/a (both before and after the Carnival patch drop)

Reproduction Rate:
Constant (100%)

How much you want to bet it calculates that 25% from any weapon with an ‘ammo’ stat and assumes said stat is at 0?

See below.

Doesn’t it base the 25% increased ammo on the spare ammo pool, not the combined magazine+spare.

oh right. Objection removed, this isn’t spaghetti, it’s just Definitional Failure.

I believe it increases reserve ammo by 25%, not total ammo, which absolutely messes with weapons that have a high magazine capacity and low reserve, like the plasma gun.

What did you expect when the game has a literal Fatshark stamp of quality on it?
25% more spare ammo is useless. It should be like how it was before, with the boosted ammo being based on the total amount of ammo you have.

If it’s indeed working as intended RN, then the description should clearly state so. Otherwise it’s misleading (what a surprise).
But why the quack would you nerf the Vet even more…

We used to get 40%, now it’s only 25%, and it’s harder to get than ogryn, is this really designed for veterans, a ranged class?

It used to be 40% total ammo, not 25% spare. It is a massive difference.

It got “acknowledged”, woohoo! Here’s to hoping that ALSO means “will be fixed soon” :upside_down_face:
