Veteren Feat Counterfire not designating Flak armour ranged units during Volley Fire

This happens every time I use Volley Fire, every other type of ranged unit is highlighted, however the Flak Armoured un masked range units never are.

Simply make sure feat is active, and go to Psykanium or any game.

You’re probably talking about the flak armored Scab Stalkers. Fatshark is very much aware that they don’t highlight, and they claim that’s by design intention.

Scab Stalkers are “supposed” to constantly work towards flanking, closing in, and then engaging in melee. In reality they pick some cover and shoot at you in large groups and basically function as dedicated range units. Fatshark has so far refused to acknowledge or redress the issue even though the AI is not behaving in accordance with “intended design”.

I have personally recommended to them that they need to either A:) Take away the Scab Stalker’s range weapons and make them dedicated melee units, or B:) Make them highlight in conformity with every other ranged unit, because as it currently stands they do not seem to be able to get the AI to perform as they intended.

TL;DR: It’s “intended” but doesn’t work how they are intending and they probably won’t fix it anytime soon.

I really hope they change their mind at some point…
Even if it is intended, it simply makes no sense.
I have seen around 10 bug reports about this enemy type not being highlighted, because everyone who notices it, sees that it makes no sense.

It makes no sense based on the behavior of the enemy, it makes no sense based on their armor, their weapons, their name …
Even if they were more aggressive guys that actively move in (which would be the most stupid strategy they could employ), they would still shoot at you sometimes, which means that they are shooters and should be marked.

lol I don’t get their reasoning because clearly someone with a weapon that can shoot is obviously a shooter

They’re way too similar in role, visuals/silhouette and behaviour as well has having jank melee switch compared to Scab Shooters.

If they wanted a unit that can shoot that still emphasises close quarters, they should have been given a melee weapon and pistol. That would change their look and feel up enough to properly differentiate them from Scab Shooters.

Can’t agree more, I would even state it as “it’s not working like it was intended”.

This really means it should be reviewed again by the devs.
