Veterans are in the 2025 dev oven

I am not going to say anything of what Veterans personality has non-NDA spoken yet I can tell that there is more in the works already for the Veteran for 2025, may include more voice lines, and for most of us that were wondering what FS is up to post-“holiday season” of Winter its cooking

More shovels?

Nah, it will be the iconic Warhammer 40:000™ weapon: the Wrench.

I believe they said/announced already with the latest update (due to the fact that everyone else got a new shiny BUT veterans), that they where ‘cooking up something special’ or equivalent language for the veterans.

I hopped for a new weapon, but a ‘Psyker level’ Talent tree pass (general re-shuffling based on some community points and a upgraded/added talent node or a few) would be DELIghtful. Vets are already in a pretty dang good spot, but seeing Marksmans Focus become less of a talent tax/work for more than just ‘the recon lasgun and nothing else’, and otherwise seeing what else they deem ‘worthy of being looked at’, would be quite great to see!

I feel like on the Veterans Talent Tree they may buff up the Executioners Stance and Marksmans Focus, moreso Executioners Stance seems underwhelming

As long as they’re giving Ogryn some tlc too then all is gravy.

How about a crowbar, a lead pipe and a broomstick?

For ranged we can have a recon autogun.

Too expensive to make, maybe next year

The only spot on Veteran’s tree I have an issue with is all on the right side. If they removed Exploit Weakness and Skirmisher that would clean up the right bottom branch.

hopefully a zealot skilltree rework is also in the oven

I’m not happy with any of the Veteran talents. This discussion has been going for a long time, but they completely missed the mark when it comes to the talents matching the class identity and flavour, and even more so, they are boring.

When I see people saying things like:

I try to give the benefit of the doubt and assume people mean to preface “Since this is what we got stuck with…”

I struggle to understand how anyone could find any of that talent tree interesting at all.

I mean, okay, if sticking words in my mouth is your thing then, uh, you do you.

Las pistol

Ive been quite bored with vet as of late and I would love more range/melee weapons that are good into bosses with great unyielding damage. Some people like the power sword or the chain axe or the bolter or plasma for single target dps but I want something totally fresh. Often times i want to play bolt pistol or braced autogun or infantry autogun but dont really know what melee weapon to pair it with nowadays as im not a fan of knife gaming and the constant charging of the power sword just annoys me more than anything. I used to play with the chain sword alot but its not so great into mixed hordes or large groups of ragers due to the way it sticks to enemies. I dont even know if this makes any sense but yeah thats my two cents. Ive been playing a ton of psyker here lately cuz vet just kinda bores me nowadays and ive basically retired my plasma gun cuz it has seen far too much use for far too long.

I honestly dont think executioners stance or infiltrate will ever compete with voice because voice is such a team oriented thing with the knock back and yellow toughness that it will be hard for the other two to ever compete in that sense. I mean voice is the only ability vet has thats even remotely defense related and even if they bake in some kind of survivability to executioner stance or infiltrate I cant imagine it changing much in terms of the meta. Another big problem with them is placement in the tree and point investment because voice only requires two skill points and the skills above it and below it are really good.

Great… if they change the keystones…
But if the idea is again to try to make keystones more attractives, then here I would be upset.
And One motion is definitively a tax node. Vanguard had, at least, an use. One motion does nothing that can be noticed.

To add to the debate, I don’t use keystones. And this is close to “never”. I did one build that use marksman focus, but after testing it I have given up this one. In fact, not picking the keystone was, as always, more efficient than picking it and dealing with the triggers of the keystone.

The issue lies with the fact that it is a underrated talent branch choice

Veteran are getting more things than the other archetypes or just getting things like they usually do (except the last update of course) ?

Unpopular opinion I feel like the zealot has alot going on well in all talents, branching and builds
