Veterans also need new weapons

Veterans need a heavy machine gun with a suppressive effect or a heavy laser gun(hell gun)
After all, veterans have heavy machine guns in the pictures

There are ideas for the use of heavy laser guns (hell guns) and machine guns by veterans:

  1. Suppress enemy ranged soldiers and zombie hordes (Enemy ranged soldiers are pinned down in cover and zombie hordes move slower)

  2. Special enemies will seek cover or run away from the player when fired

  3. Heavy machine guns and heavy laser guns (hell guns) cannot penetrate the enemy’s heavy armor

  4. The right mouse button can hold the gun and turn on the suppression mode. After the suppression mode is turned on, the veteran cannot move, but it can deal a lot of damage in a short time

  5. The accuracy of heavy laser guns (hell guns) and machine guns will continue to decline when they continue to fire, and they cannot be accurately aimed

Inb4 our power sword doesn’t get the new activation mechanics of the 2 handed one and stays slow and sluggish

I agree about the heavy machine gun…
That should be a slow movement weapon… but like the heavy stubbers, human sized.

It’s kinda weird that they didn’t give any new weapon for Veteran, very peculiar,
indubitably strange, odd, not very sexy decision :face_with_monocle:

I’ve been regularly using power sword for the first time ever, and I guess I missed when it was stuuuuupid OP because it currently feels strong as hell and great to play.

That’s just the New Toy Syndrome kicking in, you’ll get tired of constantly activating your Power Sword soon enough.

Back to the topic at hand, though…

Spears would be a great 2-Handed option for Veterans.

There was a time when you block cancel Heavy 1 after activating once and it would last until you stopped hitting things within it’s timer and it was great lol

As an Illisi user, I doubt it.

They can at least give us 1 new weapon mark or something… :frowning:

personally, i believe that the hell guns should have 2 types, the pistol and the automatic. the pistol is basically just what it sounds like, a lazpistol that instead of a magazine, it has two tubes and a peril system, the reload being a vent. it’d be the same story with the automatic version only it isn’t a pistol, its a rifle of some kind, possibly the recon but preferably the one the heretic has.

That’s another subject of my point. The difference? Blaze Force Swords can scale with Peril. That’s why I believe that Relic Blades’ Heat system should come to Power Swords via a rework.

Three.

Helguns, Helpistols and Volley Guns.

Scab Gunners use Volley Guns.

You activate that thing outside of making it more varied?

YES! i would love this as a deployable like the med kit and the ammo box.

serious

mode, psykers got left out for 2 weapon updates in a row the last stuff they got…were 2 other force swords back in March 2023. And Zealot could use another range, like the throwing knife is more of a range exclusive add than their flamethrower because it does something ballistically besides be a cloud. but nobody should be sitting out an update in a perfect world, the dribble out would have a bit more substance. I already know I don’t care for the stubbers unless they rebalance the existing ones…seems like they might just launch to DoA, not-having heavy attacks to use as a ranged on ogryn. yike! I think we should be asking for more interesting content. but we all know Fat Shark is gonna fatshart and just eventually drop all the datamined content into the game…which is why I wanted melta before this obvious and boring stuff.

I don’t see the connection between the Unstable Power blessing and “new toy syndrome.” But also, the new two-handed power sword mechanic sounds like it’s meant to limit usage, not empower it:

Probably a safe bet that they’ll have an Unstable Power-like blessing though. Remains to be seen if it’ll be worth taking.

Yes, all the time? I don’t find the Illisi terribly powerful when it’s not activated.

It’d make the Power Swords actually nuanced and fun compared to their current boring ahh “activate, swing, repeat” playstyle. They’re designed poorly.

Higher risk, higher reward.

And there you have it.
