Veteran isn't as bad as people say it is

I find it so terrible sad that everyone that defends how horrible the side keystones feel either use it as a partial buff or use it in a seemingly unintended way (Marksman’s Focus with Columbus 5).

The problem with “willing to put some effort” is that it neither has a good enough payoff nor an enjoyable playstyle. As partial buffs they are lackluster, and with full commitment, they feel bad to play and are generally meh.

This design only works if either you can some incredible payoff or the playstyle is enjoyable.

With WS Is there anyone who thinks constantly swapping for melee buff is worth it or enjoyable? Is the Crit boost really worth it? We already have agile engagement. Are the other modifers worth picking at all apart from some meme tier build?

With Marksman’s focus is it really worth it to pick up on a sniper build instead of picking Tag keystone and consistent rending? Is it okay that Columbus and Autoguns get a lot more out of it than single-shot Precision weapons?

Isn’t this an actual problem?

No build on any class would give up keystone because they are build-defining/enabling apart from Vet where the only keystone that feels bad to give up is the middle one and the side ones are more like “maybe nice to have” with not-enjoyable/unnatural playstyle if you actually want to actively lean into it.
