Well’p there’s new stuff on the cash shop. Shame I don’t have fourteen-thousand Aquilas to buy any of it with.
Devs as in the development house, you know the company that is Fatshark. Fatshark are not publishers they are a video game development company.
Therefore they are Devs.
Yes this is a management decision but management are devs, just not developers.
With this glacier like response time I t might actually be aquilae. They just wait until the death Korps stuff is rotated out of the store
I can solve this whole debacle…
On behalf of the community, I will accept one (1) Aquila, as a show of good faith from Fatshark, that they are committed to providing a solution. Should no solution be delivered, I shall repeatedly remind them of that 1 Aquila that cannot ever be spent and therefore no value can be realised from it, to symbolise their failure to honour their commitment
(P.S: before people get mad, this is not serious; however, I kinda want 1 Aquila just because)
They failed that commitment back in December 2022 bud, when they released the game.
With taking maybe 1% of beta feedback into consideration.
Ok, reffering to FS as devs while the rest of the internet calls actual developers, devs and not saying FatShark when you’re talking about FS, certainly is perfectly non-confusing.
Besids that, who’s to say that it’s not the publishers decision or even GW that makes them include all these skins at those prices?
Instead of having to clarify which is actually in need of clarification, I just say management.
No matter whos decision it was, it was a management decision…
Simple GW make their policy very clear when it comes to how they handle with games. All assets must pass the “Is this something we are comfortable with” test. I.e. Fatshark and more recently Owlcat games have stated GW just want to make sure story beats and mechanics represent the universe. I.e. GW really dont like idea of super rare pre existing relic stuff being in video games.
GW have no say in skins etc because they don’t receive a royalties deal. I have a friend who worked on the shameless Fantasy ARPG some years back and he explained the process very clearly which coincides with Fatsharks statements in streams for VT2 and DT.
You purchase the license which back then was very cheap. You then run assets etc past their team. They say cool and you monetize as you wish cause they already got their money and gave greenlight.
Owlcat games have stated a similar occurrence where story elements were blocked and specific in game references/cameos were wanted but they were told no.
This is puerly a fat shark decision probably incentivized by their Tencent payed board members. Whom I know Hedge said were rather hands off. But that leaves only Fatshark as the ones making that choice which Hedge all but danced around in the discord.
Sounds well founded and all but how does this disprove my statement of “management made the decision”? I’m pretty sure the graphic designers don’t slap a price tag on it themselves and then it goes live…
It’s not like I have insider info or something but how likely is it that developers have any say in the matter of monetization?
Obligatory pearl clutch post. Couldn’t let it go 24 hours.
OWL Cat games are using RT material which is Owned BY FFG, by Liscencing GW stuff GW had final Say and it a Semied Combined Ownership, with Ownership of the Rules set owned by FFG but the Lore and history owned by GW. they said no beacuse part of the reason why FFG lost the Liscence was it start to write stuff that was not following GW own Cannon. so they pulled the Licensing back.
The reason FF lost the GW (not just WH40k) licenses was that GW wanted FF to drop the Star Wars license.
I could believe that.
Well, don’t I look dumb now? ^^
Oh no. Oh nooooo. Not like this…
KAWAIIII
Am I doing it right? (Haven’t watched anime since 2006)
I don’t know why are we piling up onto CM and not the higherups making all the bad decisions.
She is trying her best with all the limitations while higherups make all the bad decisions knowing that we will be attacking CM instead of them.
We feel like we are talking to a wall but the truth is we are talking to CM who is then passing all our grievances to the actual wall.
who, be specific.
everyone talks bad about Fatshark, you just see CM
It’s the overall community. I have seen people pinging Catfish daily on discord thinking it will speed up the process. Of course it’s not everyone but from what I have seen it’s the majority of the vocal people.
i have not seen a single insult slung at catfish
answering question is part of a CMs job, who else should people adress?
