The inability to shove them when they are targeting teammates is increasing causing a lot of unfair deaths in quickplay auric. Standing close to a teammate is being punished in the worst ways possible now. When they target a downed teammate pox bursters cannot be stopped half of the time and sometimes when you do manage to shove them they bug out and detonate prematurely. They also blow up prematurely or at a range where you have no time to dodge away when they are running past you but aggro to you at the last moment before getting shoved. They explode mid air despite taking no damage.
Also on maps with inclines and ramps they only fly back for a few meters after being shoved, it as if the ramp acts like a wall.
The special spamming is making this issue unavoidable now. There is something wrong with the pox bursters that needs to be looked into.
There was also a once in a blue moon occurrence where you could kill them without them exploding if they were stunned via electrocution. It must have been patched or removed because it just doesn’t happen anymore, even with the influx of shocking weapons and abilities.
this and blowing yourself up at 100% peril on right click brainburst again are the most annoying bugs to have come back. if you’re gonna give me push resistant bursters at least make them glow green like the push resistant ones do.
I think it’s an issue with inconsistent stuns on specials. The same thing happens with dogs getting crit shot in the head - sometimes they get stunned, sometimes they don’t, and it’s impossible to tell when it will actually stun and when it won’t. Sometimes pox bursters react properly to pushing, sometimes they just don’t. My inkling is it’s related to the recent patch increasing network packet size and it’s more of a server and ‘netcode’ issue than an enemy behaviour one. Reason being I’ve noticed far more ranged shots not registering despite getting the critical headshot sound on poxwalkers, and even melee attacks not registering despite getting the headshot sound on a weapon that should one shot them, and I’ve basically never noticed that happening with melee attacks until recently. Both have happened to increase at the same time pox bursters have started to become more inconsistent in their response to pushing.
