Pox Bursters volatility

Small rant about Pox Bursters. If they are killed before they can detonate why should they explode? I like the inherent danger of them on the field, I don’t like the bullet spongy nature of a sad sack of pox lunging at the team getting blasted several times sporting a bomb bra.

Recommendation: 2-3 shots from any ranged and most assuredly, 1 shot of a VS using his class ability or a Psyker dropping a BB on them. Whilst removing explosion on death for a headshot or whatever, giving players that dopamine hit for situational awareness.

Given the buggy nature of their door spawning in your face this seems like a reasonable suggestion.

I think they’re fine as they are. The best way to deal with them is actually just one block push and dodge backward. What causes issues for the team is people panicking and shooting them. You should only ever shoot them if they’re knocked over with no teammates nearby or they’re miles away. Never shoot at them if they’re close to anyone on the team.

In the first clip, the guy obviously has a bug. That’s never happened to me personally, and that’s not the normal or intended behaviour.

Second clip, the guy did it correctly and successfully and then proceeded to walk back towards it before it blew up. They don’t explode instantly.

Yes, this is the best way to deal with them if the server actually pick up your push.

I don’t trust the servers enough and its safer for me to shoot them in the face when they are safely away from team on approach.

The worst thing you can do is ignore the poxwalker and let it aggro someone else. Thats very sad to see players be this lazy (for diff 4 and 5).

I could argue games can be harder on solo que in diff 3 because how bad the team chemistry is/selfish people play.

It happens a lot once you hit damnation, bonus points if it’s high intensity. There’s a combination of bugs, lag, and just overall poor server quality that makes shoving them incredibly unreliable.

Lolwut.

What version of the game are you playing? They explode as soon as they splat back onto the ground 99% of the time. You’re telling me a 3-4 second delay is normal? (It is not)

Here, have some more.

Wait, why is that…

Spawns are fun.

Happy for you if you have a smooth experience. This happens to me about 25% of the time.

If you think it’s a bug you should definitely report it, but I see this happen quite often.

I play Heresy, and I have noticed the worsening server performance as of late, but I’ve never had this happen to me when pushing a pox burster. I may just be lucky, but I did agree in my reply that what’s shown in that clip isn’t intended or normal behaviour. It should be reported as a bug or in the technical issues section.

Back to the actual topic though, now we’ve reported our bugs and performance issues, I believe pox bursters are designed just fine as they are because you can just shove them.

Happens to me every once in a while. Happened basically every time for a few weeks after launch I think, then got better. Servers seem to wax and wane on how awful they are.

In any case poxbursters are like 50% too tanky for a suicide bomber enemy, and they should also deal friendly fire to surrounding enemies. It’s like having red barrels that don’t explode in a shooter. Why even have them then?

Had a poxburster fall sideways when pushed away on stairs.

Had a poxburster lie on the ground not exploding after pushing it.

Had poxbursters ignore Psykinetic’s Wrath about 50% of the time.

Had poxbursters ignore multiple pushes or staggers.

Had poxbursters stagger reset after being knocked down.

Had poxbursters be pushed and fall forwards.

Had poxbursters pop out of doors with a single beep only after it was mid-dive.

Poxbursters can spawn in places where it can’t reach players because it is designed to explode if they have to climb to reach players.

Poxbursters are the second most broken specialist, both in its basic design and issue it has exacerbated by a lot of game design decisions. Its response to almost any interaction is almost completely random short of killing it.

Having killed a poxburster twice ever without it exploding there may be a way to do it but it’s completely non-intuitive.

Also completely unintuitive is that how a poxburster explosion doesn’t affect enemies at all. No damage nor stagger/knockdown. It’s exploding. Even if enemies are immune to the corruption/pox it contains, it is still exploding.
