Tower Defense Mode

Hello.
How about adding a Tower Defense mode?
You fight off waves of enemies and upgrade your equipment.
You install turrets and other defensive means.
This would be an interesting mode for the WH40K universe.

We can’t get even crafting rework, so any hopes for updates of any content, are nothing but pipe dreams.

And even still, I bet any TD is way less likely, then Chaos Waste 'esque mode.

Im not sure about tower defence, but Id love to see a return of a waves level like V2’s “Fortunes of War” in DT.

It would be a cool and unique idea but a lot of work to add all the systems for that. There are a lot of other priorities that need to be resolved first (Or I just think would be more worth the dev time like new classes).

Taking inspiration from Chaos Waste but set on a static map, having internal currencies that can be gained by killing enemies/surviving the wave, and by accomplishing certain objectives
Currency could be used for multiple things:

  • Weapon Change/Upgrades
  • Fortification slots: Set on a Gears of War system:
    → Defined slots on the maps can be used to call reinforcement, this can range from Mine fields, covers, Auto turrets and even some allied units (Guardsmen and Ogryn heavy weapon team)→ Mines: Caltrops, Shredder Mines, Jumping Mines, Fire mines→ Gates/Cover (Maybe destroyable ?): Simple Box cover, Sand bag line, more advanced bunker/fortifications
    → Auto turrets: Assault Cannon, Lascannon, Flamer, Melta, Bolter
    → Allied/Bots: 4 Guardsmen (Lasgun + Catachan Swords) + Sargent (Bolter and Chain Sword) etc…
  • Boons: Like how the CW function

Eg of maps:
Throneside: 1 set where we take the diagonal lift, and the 2nd set in the Forge proper
Chasm: Bridge, where we steal the ammo and the Train station
Hourglass: 1 in the Communication array, 1 in the Gas vault
