To The Community: Congratulations, you got what you wanted

Possibly.
As long as FS doesn’t cave in to the “never nerf anything” babies.

As opposed to caving in to the nerf everything babies?

Come on now. The majority of balance changes have been buffs. They’re doing both buffs and nerfs and that seems pretty sensible. I’d be complaining too if it were all nerfs all the time.

Just winding up the guy here hedge will probably delete me in a bit :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t think so, unless you’re really outrageous.
They’re a lot more sensible than people think.

There just some people who can’t admit they don’t deserve to play most difficult content and they were able to do so only cause of some OP weapon, it will just hurt their ego. And choosing lower diffuclty for them is like insult, while it’s shouldn’t be so, if you can’ handle something - read/watch guides, or stay at difficulty that is comfortable for you. I can’t believe there anyone who can’t play at sedition lol.

Power sword still works… the vets who think its broken will figure that out soon enough and i suspect power cycler will get more common too.

Its not gone

Its the bolter nerf I’m expecting next its disgustingly op lol

Or maybe pinning fire - two birds with one stone.

I’m saying more about flamer “tragedy”, like 0 of those whiners have tested it after nerf. For PS devs just went with lazy way, i posted my opinion in several threads it should be reworked.

Imo bolter is well balanced weapon itself. It was totally fine before blessings buff. I would say Shattering Impact should be removed from a blessing pool. And plasma gun should take anti-heavy target niche

Only time will tell what the future holds.

Amidst the angry posts I saw fat shark did this with their previous tide games too. Lucky I was prepared for it ahead of time. Even if they had completely broken power sword I have stockpile of alternatives and also materials banked by abusing it pre nerf.

I still think they should’ve buffed a whole bunch of the other weapons and blessings before they even considered a nerf.

Come to think of it imagine if they had properly tested it before hand and not wasted the time of hundred’s maybe thousands of people shooting for a weapon/blessing combo within this horrible crafting system. That would’ve been nice wouldn’t it.

Weeell, people should understand they are playing beta/early access. It’s not an excuse for Fatshark calling it a release.

Yeah okay, but being fair Powersword is still very good as a self-defense option. It was knocked down from the King of the Hill to still really really good, just clumsy.

Flamer nerf is barely noticeable. Flamer was too strong and we were seeing players using it from the beginning to the end of a mission.
Power sword… spam click? hmm… yes you can… and you can also kill enemies with the sword without energy and reserve the special action for specials / elites.
But, the nerf of the PS is really noticeable and can really change how someone played before. But the weapon was too OP… the nerf had to be hard.
Where I agree with you is power cycler. I don’t like the idea that this blessings is now the one you should want. But, the blessing cannot be removed now.

Well… I think it is the contrary. The ones that ask for nerfs (and maybe more than what I do if you consider a thread I did about giving love to several weapons) are the ones that think several weapons were/are too powerful and that it removes any difficulty.
My position is different. I want that all weapons have their utility, their strong points and weakness.
Where I agree with you is the lack of content. That’s the main point that I think they should work on. Not really new subclasses (even if I would love), but new maps and new missions…
Or even a system to generate dynamic missions (with tiles chosen at random by the game and that are put side to side with airlocks between them).
We all knows perfectly all maps… this begin to be boring to even know where the enemies will spawn…

Final word: Yes PS and flamer deserved a nerf… The PS nerf is a little harsh, but the weapon was so overpowered that it was blatant that it would come. For the flamer, with all discussion about it and 90% of players that agreed about a nerf… well, it was really waited. Here the nerf is not so strong. Ok, flak armored enemies resist more, and that’s great, but the flamer is far from useless.

I disagree about tweaking boltgun blessings.
They are fine.
In my opinion, and that’s an opinion, the boltgun have to stay a bolter. This weapon has to be impressive and explode all enemies at close range…
My opinion is that it is not the problem, the problem is that you have this fantastic power to wipe everything at close range and also that you can kill a sniper far away of you.
The bolter has a big recoil and a long reload time… however it is a too precise weapon at long range.

Considering its terrible range there was an element of skill to deploying it against shooters.

Its actually the opposite. The problem with the bolter is the hipfire cone when full auto is too accurate. It should bounce harder. Bolters are accurate long range weapons. Yes they do not have stocks and are held by baseline humans so there’s an arguement for not making them pinpoint accurate but then so, too, should the revolver and the laspistol. We all know that’s bad design.

Just gonna say it again. Powersword is unacceptable in its current state.

Sry, but I disagree on your disagreement.

Almost every vet weapon can do it and tbh it’s better to stay like this, cause sharpshooter that can’t pixelhunt sniper or bomber…big oof and a reason for toxicity spreading in random lobby.

It’s not even a factor that you can kill a sniper with bolter or hunt down some shooters. Bolter shines in hi shock trooper on t5, cause you can easly push through with it. They changed spawns so there are less shooters and more elites it seems, like 8 crushers blob is a thing now (seen it myself on a hiHunting yesterday)

I’m not quite sure is it Pinning Fire or Shattering Impcat or their combination, but before blessings were buffed bolter was pretty fine balanced weapon, it wasn’t the most popular weapon cause every run there was 80% dreg stalkers.

Test without then… without shattering and without pinning out.
You will see that… you kill things like with them. Off course it does less damages, but it is not really significative.

You can disagree with me… but for me the bolter has always been too powerful cause it allies a nice power of destruction and an perfect accuracy.
I would hate that they nerf the power of destruction… but nerfing its accuracy would make several other weapons shine more.
And I don’t know how you can say it was not popular… I have seen more bolter, since I started to play darktide, than I saw infantry gun, revolver, shotgun (not since the last patch with the new shotgun, but will it remain like that?) etc.

As I said several times… the nerf is harsh.
Removing it is not an option, as the PS was OP. As I said in an other post (that I am lazy to search) maybe they should have restricted the swing when special attack is activated to 2. 1 seems a little harsh.
But sure there was several other solutions (like a delay between two activations).
But, my point was that the nerf was deserved. Not that the PS is now balanced.
I have tested it (damnation). I can use it, I can kill things and even manage lot of groaners / pox walkers. And I don’t have power cycler.
But, I need more time to see if I think the nerf is good or not.
What I can say is that the nerf impacting flamer is fine… flamer is still a strong weapon. But PS… need time to adapt and see if it was the right move.

I think the PS is balanced but it isnt fun or pleasant to use. Its balance over fun and thus sucks fundamentally. Hence it demands a rework. Unpowered swings must die.

I can agree on this from the games I did with the new power sword.
I must admit that I use it more without energizing it, and that the special action is not really… interesting.
