Ehhh not like i’m arguing, more just disscusing.
Well i have tested it without them both, but haven’t tested with each one of them separetly, it will take too many reblessings to do it, lol.
If i remember correctly, it is ~ 1/2 of mag size with SI+PF blessing and ~ 1/3 of mag size without them. (With +vs carapace dmg and ‘the bigger they are’ feat)
It is quite significant when you have 15 bolts in mag and there are 6 ogryns.
I’m not saying it wasn’t popular, but it wasn’t the most popular. I play since beta and from my memories bolter was on par with mg12. Even if it was more popular, runs with anti-shooters gun was much easier. So they firstly buffed blessings and than shifted game balance towards a bit more anti-elite, while there was enough to do only meta shift.

What I mean is that, without them you don’t have really difficulties to obtain same result. But, off course, you will need more ammo.
I would prefer to see the bolter a strong weapon at close range… but not really good at long range. But, again, that’s my opinion. Other option is what you proposed, impacting its destruction power. I can see the complaints if they do that… But possible.
However, I think it would remove the fun that we can have with this powerful weapon in our hands.
i think bolter also has a bug where shooting enemyn in an arm, or a gun blocks 50% dmg. it will be nice buff when this gets patched
Bolters canonically are mixed range weapons with similar range to lasguns. They are accurate at long distances. Also, I’m pretty sure about this now after a few games, the boltgun is actually and unironically fine and balanced and it was just how strong the power sword was making it look out of the ordinary.

i for 1 am very happy with patch #7. i have been hoping for these nerfs for a long time and they are amazing.
people are not even that upset about the actual nerfs they are upset because they grinded for something and the time they spent grinding was invalidated. with time people will get over that as they pick up their new weapons and realize that the game is a lot more healthy with the nerfs fatshark did.

No people wont be happy in time. The toning downnof PS and Flamer was a given, but the way they approached it was lazy and un-creative. Continuing to nerf things while rng locks are still in place is ludicrous.
More like F tier without a very rare tier 4 blessing that BARELY makes it usable.
Uncharged you are swinging what is effectively a Mk 1 Cathcan without the stagger on heavy hit, a weak push and fewer dodges, and those dodges are both slower and shorter. Oh and if you do charge it your losing swing time and making yourself more vulnerable to being overwhelmed.
But its okay. Whinny psykers get a PRENERF version that has unlimited dodges on top of all the other force sword perks.
That’S the spirit - if we only vehemently enough begrudge any class any weapon that is fun to use fatshark may finally be able to patch the fun out of all of them
dunno it still feels good and capable to me, havent noticed it having a weak push. and dodge count i havent cared about since v2 i dont even see how you hit the cap in DT.
maybe im just more used to using finesse weapons , but i think the israeli style overreaction this forum and community went on before even trying it has backed a lot of people into a corner there not willing to come out of.

Base PS has 2 energised attacks , its top tier , problematic and maybe needs nerf, huge amounts of peole using it.
after patch
PS with power cycler has 3 energised attacks
so something that gets +50% more enrgised attacks than what was top tier is now F tier and barely useable?
It’s interesting people still whine about the Power Sword being overnerfed yet when I play with Veterans on my team 90% of them still use it…
I still see the Flamer regularly as well, but at a more balanced rate than before.
There are still weapons that need nerfs in my opinion (Illisi Force Sword and the BM Combat Axe), but there are far more that need buffs (Autoguns not named MkVIII Braced and MkIII Headhunter, Accatran Lasguns, Infantry Lasguns not named MkXII and loads of Ogryn weapons and more…)
Force sword are, in my opinion, balanced as when you activate the special action you get peril. So you cannot spam this.
BM, problem is not only the combat axe, even if on Combat axe this can be seen more cause of the amount of damages the weapon do.
But a CA with BM is under the PS in term of damages.
As you pointed several weapons need buffs. There is also blessings thtat need corrections… perfect strike and devastating strikes are the one that need a correction.
From my point of view, BM, Deathblow, perfect strike and devastating strike should get the same mechanism. However, they have to find a way to nerf the BM/deathblow a little and buff a lot the others.
I would say that a swing counter could be a solution… (T1, only the swing where you hit a weak spot, T2 the swing you hit a weak spot +1 swing, etc.).
Braced autoguns: I prefer using the colomnus… not sure we have to buff this weapon (pretty sure they should not).
Headhunter: did not use them enough to give an opinion.
I would add infantry autoguns… they need more ammos.
Infantry lasgun: agree
Ogryn: disagree. Ogryns weapons are really strong enough considering the HP and toughness regen of the ogryns
If they still complain about it, it’s because it matters to them. They were having fun and now they’re not. Still. After this long since the the nerfs. Means that it mattered to them, they’re upset, and they aren’t coming over to your way of thinking. You got what you wanted with these nerfs that derailed many of us from having fun as we wished. How about dispensing with the condescension and have a bit of empathy or at least not be needlessly rude.
For instance, @Darth_Angeal and I have disagreed with each other in practically every discussion we’ve had, but I wouldn’t for a second accuse him of being a jerk.
That bit of peril is a joke tbh. And all 3 of them has a very good base-performance aswell, while Illisi is god tier imo.
Have to second @Darth_Angeal here. Current peril management is a joke. I actively look for low peril resist force swords to get better unstable power and warp unleashed uptime. If anything them building peril is 100% a positive with how strong warp unleashed is.

I would say that while ogryn have great range weapons and a few good CC one (brunt and bullbutcher) there is a dire lake of heavy hitting weapons for him at close range and more generally of “cool weapon” that aren’t big butter knif or chair leg. The power maul could have been this but while control is fine the slow while powering it is really frustrating.
I nearly never see a kourk knif, shovel or non basic brunt maul. Sometime a shield but not that efficient either beside closing range.

Ofc you can’t spam endless and i do unterstand your point. It’s just that they’ve become too strong in general. The base-performance is really good and the specials from deimos/obs. is only made for armoreds anyway. And there you can onetap rager easily or deal with crushers thanks to huge stagger.
Illisi is also like 10 times better in waveclear and the special is needed for the same targets. Yes the damage is way less, but you don’t stuck or something on your target.
FS would need to increase the peril on illisi to have like 2 charges and that’s it. While the others should probably come without endless dodges or the base-performance needs some finetuning to keep them more balanced. But the specials probably shouldn’t be touched on deimos / obs. .
