Tired of enemy trickle

Nowadays I feel all I’m doing is running around in circles to kill enemies spawning from all directions. I’m tired of fighting small groups of 5 enemies trickling out of magic doors spread around the map. It’s becoming predictable, repetitive and boring.

I wish the so-called “game director” would only spawn waves enemies in groups of 50 (or more) a good distance away, and coming at us guns blazing.

Yes, I know there is a horde every 4 or 5 minutes. But even them are coming at us spread thin. I wish enemies had cohesion and density. The anticipation as the big mob is running towards you would be awesome!

Thats what Auric Damnation Maelstrom and Havoc 40 is for

Horde’s are exclusively progression based, i want my timed hordes back so bad…

Yeah kinda agree. I want seas of enemies again.

Not enough enemies in general and hordes feel quite thin too.

For the first time in a while I’ve been playing other stuff. I hope they do some cool releases and put all the past special event modifiers into normal rotation…why don’t they do that?!

Moebian hordes were so good

It’s a console limitation. It’s not a coincidence that the spawning pattern changed to the staggered horde waves with an increase in elites when the xbox port came out.

I don’t think so.

Moebian modifier special event saw loads of enemies on screen at once. That wasn’t that long ago.

Have you seen the number of XBOX threads Tech Support forum?

All about the Moebian special event modifier?

“I will not support something I didnt ask for even if it’s helpful.”

Is it helpful though? Its the opinion of some and not others that increased horde density would improve the game.

Higher difficulties exist for a reason after all and it seems to me, thinking about it for a short while, that the exact problem stated in the OP is solved by increasing the difficulty, which is curerently in game, or by letting us actually choose modifiers like high intensity hordes and mobian etc, which is sadly only available to those willing to mod the game on PC.

@fbolduc What difficulty are you playing on out of interest?

That’s not true either.

25 % Damnation
50 % Auric Damnation
25 % Maelstrom Auric Damnation

I never played Havok.

It kinda sounds like you need modded difficulties imo. For most people normal Damnation is out of reach. You might just have come to the limit of what the vanilla experience can offer apart from Havoc.

Do you think its fair on people with mid end PCs to cater to your extreme needs?

performance did not improve with secrets of the machine god, the update that removed timed hordes so people could pick up skulls.

I guess so. Too bad, then.

No, it’s not fair.

Nor is limiting the game to mid-end PC, if extreme can be made as an option.

Are there mods for extra difficulties yet? It could be what you seek.

I don’t understand why you keep bringing difficulty into this.

My grief has nothing to do with wanting more difficulty. It’s about density and pacing. I’m bored with the constant trickle and craving for the occasional firehose.

If anything, for an equal amount of enemies, I feel a dense mob is easier to deal with.

Because difficulty increases the frequency and density of Hordes, on Havoc and Hi-Intensity Iv had games where Hordes and Specials are pretty much non stop.

Increasing the difficulty adds an increase in all things, why wouldnt I mention that thing that increases hordes? You want me to not suggest things that might help?

Thats why I suggest mods, because there might be a horde mode mod that suits your purpose.

I dont mind the horde frequency personally.

Would you consider fewer total enemies, but at a higher density to be more or less difficult?

I guess if we are mostly talking horde enemies coming from the front then Id say thats easier. So… you want an easier game? Do you mean you are tired of being backstabbed? Im sorry if I misunderstood but most people want to ramp UP the difficulty.

They might add a horde mode in at some point but I doubt they will only come from one direction, it just not the ethos of the game. Having to be hyper vigilant of your rear being stabbed is one of the main things a Tide game is.
