Thoughts on a new class and/or Cosmetic

Hello,

This is my first time in a Forum so I apologize if anything I say is a tad nonsensical. I recently have gotten into Warhammer and by proxy Warhammer Darktide thanks to my boyfriend. (I main Hive Scum and love the class).

I have an odd query on a possible class and/or cosmetic. I recently learned that in the cannon of Warhammer 40k cat girls exist. (If they don’t please correct me I am learning mostly through YouTube lore videos.)

I was wondering if we would ever get a class or cosmetic for this race? I feel it would be very funny! If not I fully understand. Curiosity has gotten the best of me and I thought I would ask on here.

If you have read all this, thank you for your time and I deeply appreciate this game. All the players I have met have been very kind. I hope you have an amazing day! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

They were only ever on one planet. If they leave it they die. I think the planet might have been eaten by tyranids too.

Edit, And this is the closest we have to a canon depiction of what they look like:
Meeting the Felinids

I love cats. My thoughts on cat people:

I blame the ‘musical’ Cats!

They are Felinids.

As for if we would get them, you’d have to consider them as Abhumans (Abnormal Humans), some Abhumans are considered mutants which is grounds to kill.
Black Templars do this a lot to abhumans.

Ogyrns are also Abhumans, however they are widely employed by the guard as are other Abhumans; what you’d be asking for is another Abhuman (An incredibly rare strain of them) which would likely overlap with the current roster of people (When speaking about a class and mechanics.)

And as for Cat ear cosmetics, I also doubt it… Though it would make FS money.

Summary - Likely no in either aspect. But it would be funny.

40k isnt like other franchises where everything that is written down is canon or canon adjacent. the reason for this is that its a vast IP with dozens of writers that contradict each other at times.

the in universe explanation would be that of the unreliable narrator. most information is written from a flawed perspective of imperial citizens.

anyway what does that have to do with felinids?

well 40k operates on something akin to a redstring an overarchin narrative all these writers orient themself divert a little and then come back to, and to know canon of 40k is basically to see the red string not what individual writers say.

and for felinids they havent been part of the red string for quite some time, and thus are very unlikely to make an apearance, for all intents of purposes they dont currently exist in the setting.

we have seen this many times before in 40k where races quietly phase out of the debate, and maybe or maybe not make a new appearance when GW decides they can make money by bringing them back

examples of this are:

Squats (the biggest example ironically) (reintroduced as Votann)

zoats

Slann

beastmen

jokairo (not gone but leading up to 5th edition werent mentioned much) now part of lore again

all these are races that were mentioned in official 40k novels or rulebooks (rogue trader) and quietly were phased out and some made reappearances.

well, if they’re ever going to introduce them properly, it’s possible they’ll be as cat-like as ratlings are rat-like.
which is to say not very.

consider that ratlings are called “hommo sapiens minimus” in high gothic and that’s more or less what they actually are. ratling is just a slang term.
apparently felinids are called “hommo sapiens hirsutus” which means hairy

so they could be depicted in a number of ways that have barely any cat-like visuals

ps: i had to spell hommo sapiens that way because this forum is really stupid

That’s the Throt, Felinids aren’t noted to being stuck on their own planet.

But Felinids don’t have any cannon arts or miniatures, and nothing specific about them.

Just doing my part for the gene pool. If I can get access to the wikis I’ll make it true by the weekend.

Don’t encourage the degenerates :stuck_out_tongue:
