The game crashes after every Havoc match after the 2 last “hotfixes”. Same messages for everyone experiencing this.
How is this in any way acceptable? Why is there no outrage on discussion forums? Is Havoc really that niche?
Why are the only critical posts on forums I can find draped in this fake positivity, like a post on Reddit is named “I Absolutely F***ing Love This Game.” where they do address how this has ruined their experience and hopes of reaching a higher Havoc level.
Huh? Nobody should have to dress anything up in any fake positivity to address this - this is not just unacceptable, this is bull****. It’s not like this is the only crash happening for players right now.
The devs should be utmost concerned with player retention right now, they just released a new content DLC. And what, somehow they manage to release 2 patches that make your game consistently crash without mods? The game will be stuck in this state a minimum A WEEK, as I doubt the patch will instantly release on monday?
I wish I could narc on middle management at Fatshark about how the devs are actually mismanaging the game entirely and wasting its monetary potential. This is stupid levels of incompetence.
There’s some outrage, but yes, this is unacceptable garbage. They obviously don’t give a sht with all these errors/crashes. Plus, their servers are dgsht half of the time as well. I’m not shocked to see the obvious decline of the player count. If this keeps up, I’m seriously considering quitting the game, as others have done already. It’s fking insane. It’s almost a goddamn miracle I’ve stayed this long. They only care about milking their cash cows. If I was the CEO… A sht ton of people would’ve been fired by now. Wouldn’t put up with this for 1 second. But yes, Havoc is pretty niche for some to even care about it most likely. As I personally only play like 1-2 40’s a week if that. So, the vast majority of people probably play lower difficulties & are oblivious to it.
Look, Fatshark responds to exactly two things: sub-1.5k player counts, and steam reviews going negative. Those are the only things I’ve seen draw a response that is faster than ‘plodding’.
So if it’s unacceptable, change your review to negative, mention what the problem is, and tell others to do the same.
There’s literally never been a month since launch when the average player count was below 2k. And the Steam reviews overall have never dipped into negative, not even when the game was in its worst state at launch.
The crashes are rough as hell, but we know they’re working on them. By all means, change your review to negative. But it’s not going to make a difference in how fast they deal with these issues.
Listen, there is outrage. But I’ve been playing since early access. Gone through countless Fatshark rektard moments. I especially liked last years Y2K event that shut down Havok for almost a week because they were too stupid to put in the code it was a new year. I suppose a lot of us are just cynical or don’t care . But trust me I do care about these crashes after 1.8.6. They are taking way too long to fix it while the player count goes down to sub 5k players from 12k. Fatshark really are slow and incompetent.
I was like that guy before, this game easily can be “f**king lovable” in the first 100-150hrs of play, the initial experience (gameplay-wise, story-telling still blows big deal) is top-notch, all the unlocks you get, tons of various rewards that feel really rewarding, learning various weapons and trying various builds etc.
And then you hit the ceiling and it all stops, and you are left with effectively nothing. Static, stale content that isn’t updated regularly enough, no game systems that make you replaying same missions for years that much meaningful (like a global map for war of Atoma you could change somehow, making a dent in your future battles, some events that could reflect your efforts on the story and reward you for them etc), no long-term goals for an average player to pursue.
That’s where I suspect many just lose interest and drop. They don’t go to those ridiculously-high difficulties as they can’t handle them, and there is nothing else for them to do, except replaying the missions once in a while in base game. So in the end we’re left with either excited new players, or dedicated veterans who can stomach it all, not much in-between.
I mean, look at the events they do, it’s all about helping new players to start up, there is nothing that would be interesting for long-term players in reward tracks. It’s clear their strategy is to bring new players into game first, who are not yet salty and haven’t yet figured out the content is so shallow, and haven’t yet sunk money in the cosmetics shop. Their logic seems to be “new players bring money, old players can stay if they wish, but they are not anymore priority for us”
Honestly, at that point, I really wish Arrowhead best luck. It’s not like I want Darktide to fail, but I think FS definitely needs to be used for some floor wiping, for their own good. To get a reality check and start carrying about their projects more. We need more competition.
I’m going ahead with a refund request. If you are in a jurisdiction with consumer protections available, I’d do the same; this just keeps getting worse.
