Any planned fixes for Havoc?

By fixes I mean tweaks - there are a few things keeping people away from Havoc right now and these same things simultaneously create a breeding ground for complete a**hats to gain a foothold. Played for damn near 1700 hours and experienced ONE person flipping out over some random stuff at the end of a mission. Other than than, absolutely nothing.

Probably my 5th Havoc and this guy flips his sh*t on the mic sounding like a literal manchild because I started an event early then proceeded to break down and pound his desk as he inevitably died. Listening to him cry about such a miniscule thing was beyond annoying - and the reason a person like this is even existing in this environment is because Fatshark is providing them a breeding ground.

Remove the 3 tries BS, remove the DErank BS, REMOVE the "your rank drops to whatever havoc you cleared that week BS. Seriously, for all the stupid talk about not allowing a scoreboard you allow something even WORSE than a scoreboard and put meaningful gear/titles/penances BEHIND something even more toxic than a scoreboard could of ever been.

This is coming from someone who doesn’t even care about Havoc and has done as I said, maybe 5 games but seeing the potential get SQUANDERED like so many other things in this game is just baffling.

Devs did go on record saying Havoc is being worked on in one of the latest streams, but did not go into detail. That’s all we got I think

I believe a lot of this lack of giving much details is because there’s so much expectations when things are said, and if somehow not in the final release on release day, rage filled players come ranting

A lot of the concepts with Havoc feel like they were thought up by someone who doesn’t play the game and isn’t familiar with the design paradigm of the rest of the game, but the ladder system in particular is bad.

If your product is am inclusive coop PvE title, and you’ve gone so far as to chose not to include a scoreboard over concerns about toxicity, why on earth would you build a gigasweat mode around a ladder system with demotions and all sorts of triggers for toxicity?

The whole concept just doesn’t seem to fit the rest of the game, and splintering the playerbase across three different difficulty ranges (each with their own sub-divisions of difficulty) feels particularly unintuitive.

The general sense I’ve gotten is that most people played Havoc to get their pennances and cosmetics, and then went back to the other modes, and that’s about what most were expecting, and as such it’s odd that this got so much dev time seeing as how Havoc largely appears to have exhausted itself already aside from some streamers and ultrasweats.

I haven’t that bad experiences as you have had.

But it certainly is a breeding ground for elitist behavior atm, i like a challenge but i don’t like people yelling and being childish because they can’t handle a loss.

I looked forward to Havoc and i like the game mode and the stuff it brings (like Captains) but the way you progress and level up doesn’t feel right for Darktide.

I play Auric on quickplay and almost always by my self and i don’t get punished for losing a game i can just queue up for a new one, with a lesson learned and get right into it again.

Because how the system works in Havoc it actually makes me not want to play it too much because i lose ranks and if i have a streak of bad luck, not so good synergy in the team or really oppressive mutators combos.

A lot of things can go wrong in Havoc and when there are “high stakes” (losing ranks) people are gonna become more toxic and elitist.

To be honest Darktide has a really nice community, rarely i encounter toxic people. Except when i play Havoc.

This is also a very good point.

I think they need to find a different way of making it hard than just making gunners destroy your ass in seconds.

Then work on the party finder and add some challenges for cosmetics you cant just grind out at low difficulty.

I missed the release of havok as i was off playing other games and have been testing it for a week or so and i was a bit disappointed to realise the cosmetics and most of the titles are just participation awards really.

Please God, no Fatshark… Just leave it.

Stop wasting time on Havoc!

The ship has sailed.

I think I’d be fine with a final farewell tweak that would involve, if nothing else, opening all maps for it. It’s fun from time to time but I don’t understand why it’s limited to a handful of maps
I don’t think it’s necessarily worth a huge rebalance though, it’d be way better if they spent their balancing efforts on the standard gamemode

Havoc I do not recognise as a separate mode, because it brings nothing new in my understanding, it is the same maps but with other modifiers.
Regarding the three attempts - it’s quite normal, there is nothing wrong, but there is one but.
I will not talk about awards, although it is a sore subject for me, but what it really lacks in it - it is its availability in Quick Play, given how many times during the whole time I and my friends flew out and had to try to finish havok in 2 or 3 people, it is a bit annoying and annoying. It’s not hard to divide Havoc into stages of difficulty where you can queue up to find a match, depending on your Havoc level.
Yes people are already gradually using PF, but this mode doesn’t work the way Sharks want it to, and I’ll be honest - there’s no use for it.

yeh it does kind of suck, just a bunch of old assets and modifiers recoloured and combined with a nasty debuff for the players to make it feel harder. Probably just hashed together to keep people busy in the gap between ps5 release and next meaningful content update (if there is one)

I came back recently and wondered why everyone wasnt wearing the cool new cosmetics. Figured out why pretty quickly.

Quickplay with rank ranges, free map and havoc level selection and removal of the strike system for anything below your highest rank.

Should have been released that way really

Havoc bad.

How to make DT good:

  • Add more enemies, add more interesting mechanics and abilities for those enemies exist already
  • More Warhammer-ish weapons, stop with pickaxes and hayforks (or atleast make power pickaxes)
  • New map biomes
  • Side systems, like NPC quests, faction progression, color schemes to grind, something like your own room on the Mourningside to decorate (like in Outlast Trials)
  • Hub minigames
  • Photomode
  • Twitchmode alike feature, where players can crunch up sliders to have 500% horde enemies, enemies have 200% hp/dmg. 50% slower ability cooldown, etc.
  • Horde mode
  • Chaos Wastes/rouglite mode
  • New archetype (admech or arbites)
  • New faction
  • Prestige levels or another layer of progression like weapon specialization - shotguns, swords, bolt, laser, flames, pistols etc.
  • Some crazy enemy randomizer mode where enemies have kitbashed armor parts, bulwark with flak head, infested body and carapace limbs or unarmored mauler with flak head, ooorrrr carapace dog (cry)

I need something to spend my resources on.

Maybe an Ogryn player hang out area where I can hire one as personal meatshield for plasteel.

A bar area or something to add bit more player interaction in mourningstar that involved resource transfer in mechanics like mini games or buy a drink/meal.

I imagined myself throwing plasteel in the air whilst running around and everyone chasing behind me like I am the pied piper.

Mourningstar could of been a simple menu system. But it is an open area to run between terminals so I am guessing it is part of immersion that can be built more upon.
