It would be better for the game if this mode was emptied entirely so fatshark could see what a colossal failure it was. Maybe then they’d be forced to actually listen to player feedback, because right now it seems they got their mostly positive rating on steam and don’t care any more
Based!
As I’ve been saying. They need to have the steam rating dumped into the gutter again to actually listen. It’s always like this with fatshark.
What’s Fatshark doing alongside the Ogryn Rework and the new Mortis Trials Mode? Let’s see…
Add promised new Vet Weapon
Add Solo Mode
Add Twitch Mode
Do a huge, sweeping Balance Pass
Don’t listen to the community’s feedback about Havoc at all and then ruin it so badly to a point where Weaves looks good in comparison
Fatshark are actually really good at listening to our feedback then making everything we complain about worse
perhaps a challenge mode would work for a game with many more players and a larger, faster developer.
as it is, i wish they didn’t split up the small player base, but instead put that developer time into improving and balancing standard gameplay, ironing out bugs and creating content.
Is it time to pull up the infanmous Winds Of Magic FS post about knowing better than the community what is good for the community?
I love that one
if only they were as adamant and dilligent in actually putting the suggestions at least to a TEST, we had havoc 2.0 4 weeks ago.
but no, for whatever reason they’re hellbend on going down that route despite seeing concerns and i bet both balls numbers as well and still insisting on having their way as the best possible solution.
they make great foundations but equally blunder them in their decisions, its like an ancient greek curse
That was the exact moment I quit V2 for good.
As funny as that always is, the sentiment does make sense…if the one in charge doesn’t have an ego the size of a planet.
Players very often can identify what a problem is, but rarely do they identify the correct solution.
But yeah, if a feature releases and players are vocal that they don’t like it after having tried it, then maybe do some backtracking.
No it doesn’t. Not with Fatshark and pretty much all most recent developers. This hasn’t been true for ages.
It demonstrably does make sense. Unless you are saying you agree with the majority of player suggestions you have seen in these forums. Keyword - majority
I don’t even need to use a specific example, I know you don’t. None of us do.
I know you said it was unnecessary, but here are some examples:
• “Everything should be buffed to Duelling Sword’s level!”
• “Infantry Autoguns are bad, please buff them!”
• “Plasma Guns shouldn’t penetrate Carapace!”
• “SotMG Scab Shooter buffs need to be reverted!”*
• “Zarona Revolver needs a buff!”
And so on. Not me, though! I am a pinnacle of good balancing suggestions.
*Fatshark unfortunately listened to this one.
I just remembered one time involving me when exactly this happened. It was about how Fatshark should go about making Smite less spammable.
Most others were saying stuff like “umm uhh just make it generate Peril faster” meanwhile I suggested an in-depth system of limited charged Smite uses with a cooldown, similar to Ogryn’s Big Friendly Rock. Some of those people even got angry because my suggestion was better and then dug their heels in trying to convince me Smite should just generate more Peril, which is objectively worse than my suggestion because (unlike my suggestion) it wouldn’t actually nip Smite spam in the bud.
In short, I am very glad Fatshark hasn’t listened to most of the brain-dead takes I’ve witnessed.
I am talking about community sentiment that the entire community bands together about and agrees agreed upon like “RNG is bad. We want proper crafting” or “we don’t like the party finder give us quickplay for havoc”.
That should be listened to and I stand by that. If no one plays your game anymore, your vision is worth jacksht.
No one is insinuating that FS or any dev for that matter should fulfill each demented wish some of the users ask for. That’s just being needlessly autistic for arguments sake.
I am deeply concerned about where Fatshark decides if a suggestion from the community is a “demented wish” or not. They nerfed Scab Shooters shortly after buffing them because a few loud idiots complained it was “too challenging”, yet Duelling Swords have remained unchanged for months. Fatshark has developed a consistent habit of doing the opposite to what’s healthy for the game…
You’re not some kind of elitist special person because you’re posting in the forums. It’s the same yapping into the void just in a different flavor. Fatshark doesn’t care about this place either. It’s a containment forum. Nothing else.
Edit:
Funny how you deleted that last part lol.
I felt I was ranting too much while checking my grammar, so I shortened it to account for just an example of my issue with Fatshark either completely disregarding widespread community feedback or taking years to do anything with it, just to remove things of actual value because a few loud noobs whined about them. I can retype it if you want, but don’t expect it before I come back from work.
I don’t aim to be. If it’s the title I earn because I want this game to be healthy, so be it.
Not really. They don’t read through Discord chats for suggestions, and the Subreddit is 95% memes. The Forums are where the meat is and it’s obvious they find this place to be the most suitable for feedback. You don’t see Crafting Memorials or Books of Grudges on Discord or Reddit, and Fatshark has been vocal about the importance of the latter. Heck, Mortis Trials is literally something @brosgw suggested on my old Mourningstar Memorial. We are listened to the most and for good reason.
Lovely delusion but believe whatever you want to believe.
Fatshark changes generally coincide with massively dropped off player numbers and subsequent dwindling MTX income. Then and only then, they decide to change things based on the current most vocal issue. Crafting was something universally shat on, same with people whining about Ogryn.
Yeah this incoming update is addressing video game stolen valor when what we needed was QoL tweaks for the sweatlord containment room
