I have a fairly high end PC and get stellar performance on most demanding games at ultra settings (cyberpunk, Witcher 3, battlefield, RE 4 Remake, etc.) But i struggle to get even 40 FPS during gameplay in Darktide, if I’m lucky. The game also seems to stutter like crazy, the 40 FPS my FPS counter reads, feels more like 20 FPS. I had hoped the FSR3 update with unlocked an loaded would fix the issues, but no such luck. Hell, performance feels even worse than before in certain areas. Does ANYONE else have these issues as well, and if so, do you have any recommended fixes? Any settings i can set to low, or options i should turn on? ANYTHING would be helpful at this point, i am so sick of not being able to enjoy this game to the fullest degree because of crappy FPS.
I know this probably isn’t the answer you wanted to hear, but I had to turn on upscaling to get tolerable framerates. Even with all my stuff cranked down to the lowest possible settings I still had terrible FPS, so it clearly wasn’t the issue there. Maybe it’s my Ryzen 7 2700X.
I use DLSS for my FPS booster. This game needs mad optimization.
fatshark’s engine tends to chug on high graphical settings regardless of what you try to do to make sure you can run things on max settings. this isn’t a strict hardware problem, it’s that is has very odd processing priorities and after a certain point you’re both wasting your time trying to get more pretty out of the game and beating your CPU to death with pointless tasks.
AMD does not like fatshark’s weird priorities, so they get it worse but it applies to everything to some degree. turn ray tracing down or off, this is usually the main offender in graphical crap for fatshark and it’s usually not even being used for much you can actually see.
The first game every day suffers from extremely stutters and audio glitching for me.
But it’s only the first. Sometimes the issue fixes itself halfway through the mission too.
Uninstall the current drivers using AMD Cleanup Utility, then download and install the 23.12.1 drivers. This will significantly improve performance issues, and at least you’ll be able to play. Ps. Remember to turn off vertical sync.
You need to uninstall adrenaline software and run driver only.
This stops GPU stuttering. Use MSI afterburner instead.
set ambient occlusion to low and screen space reflections to medium as they have little visual impact and high performance cost.
intel XESS for upscaling, no FSR, frame generation off
