This community is awful

faults cannot be laid on programmers that code.

100% agree. The fault/blame lies with the decision makers at FS.

But I’ve seen people laying blame on the programmers, artists, etc, the non-decision makers. When people talk about the ‘lazy devs’ they’re not talking about management.

It must be very frustrating and demoralizing getting unrealistic expectations from management, working your butt off to try and meet it, and then being called lazy.

Yeah, my opinion on the root cause of a lot of issues is more structural than anything.

The general sense I get is that teams don’t really talk to each other (the difference in the feel between the combat and arts teams and the other systems teams is massive) , designers seem to be in a vacuum and designs are approved or thrown in without much understanding on how they would interact with each other, things aren’t tested, especially in the context of a normal player, and whatever versioning process they have has some big issues since bugs and old behaviour keep coming back.

Meanwhile there’s me. I didn’t like complaining about the game, all I did was acknowledge that Vt2 is better but Dt is fine too. Then I got permabanned for fking around with my friend in chat, literally only talking to him and no one else and FS won’t reply to my support tickets . I can’t believe I was permabanned for using the chat directed to my friend. Didn’t even talk to the other fkers.

we live in a society

i aint the one to infringe on free speech but did the banter in public chat include bannable content? If so then yea dont be surprised someone reported that and devs found full reason to ban hammer

edit: use the voice chat next time, if it aint worth saying then it shouldnt be worth typing at all

They should at least give courtesy to respond either way on decision. That’s messed up. I can imagine some person on tech support, sees a ticket, decides to ignore it without empathy.

They move elsewhere in any other tech support industry they won’t go very far. Treat others as you want them to treat you I say.

Perm ban seems excessive for first time chat infringement. Should be 3 warnings at least.

The same people that report for chat are the same people that choose to have their profanity filter off, otherwise how could they see what is said. Which is ironic since they chose to see it by having filter off.

(We’re zero tolerance on references to and threats of or requests for sexual behaviours with children on Atoma Prime. Hopefully this isnt a surprise to anyone)

lmao, is this a nudge nudge wink wink reference to the reason this dude got banned?

Well. Who knows. I just felt the need to bring it up as a general reminder. :upside_down_face:

I wouldn’t even be surprised. Last time I saw someone complain about their bans in another game it was then revealed that they were asking kids inappropriate stuff

The fact THIS needs to be reminded to anyone, or at all makes me karking depressed.

naw, the permaban was expected

i frikin knew some degen shiz like that would pop up

sometimes the permaban is uncalled for
sometimes the shadowban is called for

btw, u guys do need to find better reviewers, i got falsely reported and banned once

You should really try to avoid multiposting (posting a string of messages on the same topic).
Use the edit option, instead, if you want to add something.

I reviewed that case, it was a tricky one, and the penalty received was reduced from our usual time outs, given the context of what was said and how. But it wasn’t false.

… … …

I mean, the policy isn’t surprising, but I admit I’m a little surprised it had to be enforced.

Phew, this whole forum is still on fire, like that giant burning pile of tires outside of Springfield.

Well, I’d like to add that this whole controversy was not started by entitled people in the community, but by the real fact that the game heavily under-delivered. If the game and the whole release were not filled with frustration and disappointment, the community might have been far more warm and fruitful by now. Additionally, it seems the efforts of the community team to have improved transparency and communication were only somewhat effective and often did not shed a good light on internal communications and cooperation.

I still hope that this project somewhat recovers and gets back to the product that was initially promised or envisioned, and we all look back in two or three years laughing about this. But there are still voices from the warp whispering that this game is dying slowly and the decisions were already made.

The unacceptable state the game delivered in does not justify the unacceptable response by some people in the community. 2 wrongs don’t make a right.
