This is from today. And yesterday was a holiday in the US:
Ah yes. The namecalling.
What about the over 300 people who have complained about the crafting system and asked for a removal of the locks on this forum?
Are we ignoring all the constructive threads that include viable solutions to every single problem that the current crafting system has?
The game has been crumbling since launch. The player numbers are down to <5% of their peak.
And most people have only turned to toxicity after a long time of giving reasonable feedback and hoping for the crafting system to be made good.
Being ignored for 6 months can make people toxic.
I am pretty sure that if people complain about the same thing for such a long time, they actually mean it.
If hundreds of people are complaining about the same thing (while nothing else gets even close to that much community attention), maybe this is an actual problem to a lot of people.
And maybe if that problem was solved, a lot of those people would no longer have anything to complain about.
Once again, if the naysayers are just a vocal minority, why is the game doing so badly?
“50-100” people can’t drag the reviews of a game down that was sold several million times.
The playercount is dwindling steadily and has started dropping below that of VT2.
A great deal of the stability & connection issues are probably due to the matchmaking throwing people together that are playing from different continents because there’s no one else available at that moment.
I agree there’s a lot of unnecessary toxicity on here, I for one have always tried to take responsibility for my emotional response and remain constructive and supportive of the dev team, I have only admiration for the people at FS who do the actual work.
To come in here and trash talk the people who criticize the games problems is however also not the answer.
Do you have any source for that or are you just pulling this out of your ass?
Now you’re just talking nonsense.
Are you OK?
Are the trading cards in the room right now?
Oh, no, the $220 000 000 000 industry won’t survive the cancel culture.
Gaming companies are doing better then ever and are all exposed to whatever you call “cancel culture” yet somehow FS is getting a lot more criticism then, say, Owlgames or Ghost Ship Games or 1000s of other gaming companies.
Must be that darn cancel culture.
This thread is going put of control tbh…
I’ve not picked the quote to have a dig at Ralendil, but it sums up where we are.
The same things are utterly wrong and completely unaddressed or even spoken about by FS after six months. SIX MONTHS.
Customers complaining isn’t whining, it’s legitimate feedback on a downright awful product.
your gate keeping mentality and toxicity is quite saddening.
I would be happy to see an higher difficulties for those like you who enjoy the game at damnation and above. But let those not willing to put up with this enjoy the game as they wish.
And about player depletion, casual are always in bigger number than vet, especially at launch, so ensuring they enjoy the game is key.
I would bet that diff 3 and 4 are the two most played on this game.
About this post subject. I only agree that I would enjoy seeing more positive reaction but I think the fault is mostly on FS side. While passionnate gamers do tend to get too extrem in their answer they can also go all the way to support a game they love (see deep rock galatic as the best example of this). But with a let down at launch with many empty promise, several missing key elements and a lot of bugs FS ensured that the early evaluations would be bad (and it was only saved by those who played the beta and mostly made positive return, thinking the broken part would be fixe for launch).
We didn’t vote for the game to grind to an alt, we asked them to make a functionnal game with functionnal crafting, operating server and mostly acceptable balance. They then announced that having a game in a launch state would take 6-12 months of stopping everything else.
Plus the decision from fatshark to never comment on the lock aspect (either “we recognise it is a falted system and we are exploring new ways to handle this” or “this is a key element to our design and it’s not going anywhere”) make people more frustrated at each commlink that doesn’t mention it.
While I still think a way to break the lock is needed in the game (either getting ride of it or using diamantine) I think the game is now how it should have been at launch. So I wouldn’t mind them cranking up onthe content from now and I don’t mind the premium shop return (even if I won’t use it until they get ride of the full FOMO system).
But they released a game in an early access state, change their mind or lie on a lot of things before launch and are letting CR (mainly catfish) handle the wrath of the community without the mean to appease it so they are getting what anyone could have seen coming.
This threads existence is a sign of how out of control the whole forum is.
How/why did it come to this?
Tbh, and note that I don’t want to be rude, what will bring you if they confirm that they won’t remove locks?
Cause, after 6 months, you may have understood that locks will remain, doesn’t it?
I can understand that you want more, but Catfish said that devs are aware of the current situation and the problem related to the crafting system. She also said that they are working to resolve them.
I can understand that people point the problem, I also did it by the past. In my opinion, crafting consumes too much time when we consider the system and the fact that all time spent to craft one item can be a wasted time cause you won’t get what you want… I proposed that they make crafting easier and that we could craft more items by the same time we play the game.
To be fair, I would say that I have 95% of the weapons I want and that I can consider as perfect or nearly perfect… but I perfectly see the problem of the current system that can hurt ‘‘casual’’ / ‘‘new’’ / ‘‘people that don’t want to spend all their time on this game’’ players that want playing the game.
However, if I can understand that the topic come back regularly, I am less indulgent when I see people making every thread go off topic and saying everything is a failure in DT.
I don’t say this is the majority. There are players that are critics, but can discuss of other topics, and that’s perfectly fine (again)…
I was talking about the 2 members who are close to insulting each other…
But, I have to say that the thread title is not welcome (word “toxic”).
Clown downplaying criticism of the game by hardcore fans of the game itself.
Protip: The more you love something, the more you hate to see it ruined and fail.
Well pardon me, sire! It’s hard to work around your activity and not to hurt your feelings when I describe it! Huff and puff as much as you want about it, but you can’t pee on my shoes and explain to me that it’s raining.
Well, that’s 200 more and still compares as f-all to the bigger numbers at play. So that’s what. The crafting will not stay in its current shape and form and quite honestly, I can enjoy the game with the locks, and there’s a silent base that nobody cares to count b/c a) they don’t care about weewee measuring and b) it would go against your 300 strong. There could be multiple solutions and I certainly don’t want to experience VT2 in 40k, so until the crafting gets done properly, I’m amassing my hardware.
Oh, important note! Just because that 300 you pulled out from somewhere hashtags over the board, it doesn’t obligates FS to comply. Try to understand that once and for all!
No, we are talking about the deluge of whine posts as of late. Again, this forum is just a place for every pkayer go speak his mind. The fact that you played several hundred hours doesn’t entitle you to decide what path the studio should take and at what time. And you certainly have no right to imply that your community (as in: those who b!tch and moan) is the only one being constructive here. You should be able to see it if y’all would just leave and not derail any topic with Fatshark this and Fatshark that kind of whining.
Regarding toxicity: I firmly believe that if anybody who has been playing for six months easily going over 500 hours and turn to this attitude b/c they think they are being ignored about some video game change, have a LOT deeper and more serious problems than Fatshark. This attitude in general is unfitting for any decent person, but I understand that decency takes a backseat nowdays, especially in Internetistan.
Surely you are hardcore in something, clownshoe!
That’s not even a “tip” you are flexing with, that’s a hint at best. Here’s a “protip” for you: get your vocabulary straight before you call anyone a clown!
Also one last thing about the “most players are happy but a few disgrunted forum members are making a seen”:
Last month the game received 1200 evaluations, out of those 612 were negatives. Those were new players, not those complaining from day one who have already voted a long time ago. The game still disapoint more than half of those who try it every month for the last sixe month. Not a small group of grumpy people while the reste of you are enjoying what we can see.
And most of the reviews I can see (either positive or negative) say the same “great shooting loop, terrible experience outside of it”.
All of what you say is true…
However, being negative in every post you write won’t solve this situation (and I don’t say you by you personnaly).
Now, I agree that FS needs to do something on this and, tbh, before they launch the Xbox port. Or, they will face a disastrous release…
Blockquote “Oh, important note! Just because that 300 you pulled out from somewhere hashtags over the board, it doesn’t obligates FS to comply. Try to understand that once and for all!”
I suggested a direct and constructive way to avoid this kind of back-and-forth between forum users here: Feedback - Request for a Roadmap
tl;dr - frequent Polls/Questionnaires. We had that one after the initial disaster (when @FatsharkCatfish was just getting started). And that was that. A simple poll about any of the circulating #s would clearly show numbers.
In earnest, the greatest issue with how DT is developing atm is the lack of roadmap, transparency and communication from the side of FS. The #s are a symptom of the community desperately trying to get any attention and feedback on these topics. However we go about it, some people are rough, some are outright obscene, and some are decent and eloquent about it.
And I firmly agree with you about the need of this roadmap
Mhm, and what can you tell me about those who just can’t be a*sed with a review but still having fun.
Boy I just love these statistics stretch and pull as a point of an argument… -_-
This point I can agree, mainly on the last patch not, hopes were missmanaged and hyped too much, leading to a massively negative reaction (which was deserved for the community event and the premium shop for me) but in its majority with two new map, new cosmetic and new shop this is still one of the biggest patch we got.
The problem is that as long as the main concerne aren’t corrected, those small addition are like getting nice silverware for your empty plate^^’
