It’s completely unnecessary & slows down the flow of the game. There is a reason V2 has keybindings to open different tabs & shortcuts to get where you want, it saves time. The Keep in V2 also has a small function in that it was personal & showed off your collectibles. In DT it has no function other than it looks good.
Not having a hub & instead having a menu so you quickly could navigate between shops, operatives, mission etc. would have been much smoother. Something in the style the game Hunt Showdown has. It has its own flaws but I would have preferred that instead of the hub.
This just might not be the game for you. Games like this and DRG where you can mess aroudn for a bit, and have to physically go to the place where the thing you want is happening? chef’s kiss
There is nothing to do in the hub, the only thing you can do is walk & run.
I rather have them focus on making the gameplay better than spending time on something that has no function. Like a good progress system. Better performance. An interesting weapon system. A more in depth cosmetic system where you can customise specific parts of the body with cybernetics, shoulder pads, tattoos, piercings, etc. Not just Head, upper body, lower body & accessories.
The hub is nothing more than wasted resources that could have been used for something that truly enhances the gameplay.
Amen. If the hub was more substantial (Bugman’s XXX slap fights from VT1 when?) then I’d be all for it, but it is like you said, there’s nothing to do there.
