The Book of Grudges: May Each Be Struck in Time

it seems like they are trolling us at this point…
regarding the glaring issue about premium shop, sadly.

I will repost here just to bump this thread and put some shame on DT cosmetics

  • Longer coat
  • Smaller filter bag (or what that thing is)
  • Shoulderpads are less space marine-y more realistic
  • Some nades or knife, flask, etc. (ww1 inspired just like Krieg appearence)
  • Minor stuff like armored plates on gloves
  • Helmet+gasmask from someones’ perfect edit

That’s giving them too much credit. Trolling requires initiative. I think it’s more likely they’re just lazy.

i know this is old, and also listed in broken promises/outright lies (even though i guess was miscommunication) this from my old thread in 2022, just to add more information about that.

if you want to add more context in the section:

" Aquilas, used to purchase cosmetics, were originally going to be available through more than direct purchasing. This did not materialize." by adding this screenshot if you want @Ragnarok101

Ooh, useful! Added, alongside updates (Purging Flames bugfix, Knifeplay emote still broken).

Bump. Looks like HD2 took a page out of FS’ book with their current shop rotation. Ho-ly-crap.

For those that don’t play HD2, typically the rotating shop is cosmetic only (Supposedly these are going to be there permanently, but from the look of the UI I think they will either still rotate or they are working on a new page to present them separately, time will tell).

New weapons are in warbonds that you can choose whether or not to buy at any time.

The content in the picture is also typically a single page of a three page warbond that costs 10 dollars (and they also usually include a couple bucks worth of in game currency). This single page above is 20 dollars. Even with the Killzone crossover/Sony tax, that. Is. Insane.

TL;DR

Even Fatshark hasn’t lost the plot this badly. Yet. It could always get worse.

edit - @FatsharkStrawHat I want to clarify that I don’t think weapon/classes being locked behind a paywall is inherently bad. Hell, I bought almost all that type of content from VT2. This is just more fuel on that FOMO fire. So props to you guys not doing this at least.

Sony really trying to recoup that Concord money.

I really do think that’s what this is.

Sony makes Killzone, is trying to push ‘premium crossover’ slop into a game that’s winning, and decided to cash in.

We keep giving FS crap for this, so I think that it’s gonna not go over too well with the HD2 community either. These are the same people who basically shut down the game over warbond failures coinciding with bad patches before, and have organized review bombing over PSN.

My guess is that Sony is gonna take Arrowhead behind the shed, shoot them, and use them as a scapegoat, because there’s absolutely no way this is going to work.

What a delightful mess to look at.

Imagine spending all that time regaining goodwill and then being forced to do that. Feel real bad for those devs.

Wow.

I mean wow.

Guess Arrowhead really needed to put out that Q4 profit statement, huh?

Personally, I think the previous prices for new weaponry and gear was too low, I’m glad they’re increasing it by triple the amount.

edit - @Ragnarok101 Turns out they are getting pretty damn good at damage control over there though

Also, you know this old grumbler, Rag?

As long as the premium currency remains so readily looted through playing the game I take most critiques of their MTX pricing model with some measure of salt. This latest stuff would definitely be overpriced if you had no recourse but to pay for every bit of it, but most players will be able to get some of this from credits they’ve either looted or unlocked through warbonds (remember, each warbond contains hundreds of credits). The prices may be higher, but the run time of this offer is more than long enough to farm up at least a couple hundred credits if you were really keen on getting this particular batch.

I get that we’re all primed and ready to point out scumminess from all these games studios but I don’t think this is as bad as some might say.

I would agree with this, but they shot themselves in the foot by sticking it into the rotating shop at all.

They separately announced it would end up being permanently available or whatever, but that would require you to have been terminally online to see that.

Disregarding that, not everyone has the time to grind the SC’s needed, I sure don’t, I already don’t have enough time to have gotten 40 on Havoc yet, let alone farm rng currency.

One thing they could have done is advertised it in advance and tell people to start farming earlier.

They then gave the rest of the Killzone cosmetics and weapons for free, today, so…yeah.
