Yeah I’m about to lose my whole Darktide crew to MHW, lol.
Good to know!
I already lost it to the PoE 2 beta, and one of them is about to run to MHW too ![]()
Im enjoying the PoE 2 beta but it doesnt scratch that itch like the Tide.
Switched to PoE2 as for the main game myself > came back to look what’s new in DT, while awaiting 0.2.0 for PoE2 > as usually nothing new, whine “Fatshark bad” all the way till 0.2.0
poe2 is not ready yet needs more time i came from there to darktide hah
There are lots of issues, many brought over from PoE1 especially regarding convoluted menu buttons and things not working properly (Im playing on PS5 and its slightly painful).
I also had issues when I tried linking my PC and PSN accounts so I could play the beta on both systems, but it nearly deleted some of my stuff, I logged in after cancelling the process but it had gone through with it anyway, and all my stuff was gone from all accounts on both PSN and PC… including my pre-nerf starforge ![]()
Thankfully they eventually unlinked my accounts although it took them about 3 weeks to sort it
and during that time I felt like I was getting AI responses that werent in relation to what I was asking. I didnt dare log in until it was sorted. Not a good start to the beta for me.
In my experience in the past GGG support is lacking this only solidified that feeling, but at least they sorted it without deleting my account (which the support guy offered out of nowhere after me specifically saying I do NOT want to lose anything
)
In comparison, FS support feels human and has a reasonably quick turnaround and response time. Iv seen FS sort issues time and time again on these forums. I know there are issues they cant always fix quickly, but you ask for things to be restored and they do, you ask for a refund of a purchase and they do! Every time. Without complaint.
GGG are not that quick or nice and Iv seen people post horror stories about them only refunding items once and after that they refuse. People post “can I haz refund?” on the PoE forum and they just say “email support”.
FS just do it.
FS has issues but I like reminding people that so do other companies, sometimes even worse.
Funny that FS and GGG are polar opposites in terms of game companies - FS is horrible when it comes to keeping schedules and producing their video game, meanwhile GGG is on it like clockwork.
On the other hand, FS support staff has consistently shown to be doing their best, while GGG is quite the nothingburger. I’ve never had the displeasure of having to interact with support, but I’ve seen posts on Reddit every other week of someone losing everything.
To be entirely fair, GGG is operating a free game that is estimated to have literally over a million people playing concurrently when leagues launch. Darktide usually hovers around 4k going to 10k when a big patch drops and it’s inherently not a very support intensive game, whereas an ARPG can be. It’s a way different scale we’re looking at here, and it’s probably hard to deal with the “rush hours” when a league comes out
Absolutely, but for me its the way that FS just gives money back and theyve always been that way, and the way that GGG doesnt, and theyve always been that way.
GGG is ruthless.
Do they actually give money back? I’ve gotten plenty of store currency refunds from GGG, I assumed Fatshark would just do the same thing, give you the aquilas back but not the dollars
Idk for sure.
Can’t believe it took me this long, but added the ‘mesh breaks so your weapon’s ironsights become unusable’ bug to the Book.
Some individuals on this site continue to harp on the faulty argument that Games Workshops always slams the brakes on Fatshark, despite the fact that that theory isn’t supported by evidence, and as you stated, if Games Workshop is to blame, why don’t they also put these restrictions on the Space Marine 2 devs?
Space Marine 2, the game that includes both Astartes and major lore characters such as Marneus Calgar.
The very poster lads for Warhammer 40K.
Why is it that Space Marine 2 can do accurate Astartes loadouts and also on top of that give you the ability to come up with your own if Games Workshop slams the break on everyone?
What we do know, and what is verified by evidence, is that Fatshark (like most) outsourced their store cosmetics to a low-cost Chinese sweatshop that creates cosmetics for numerous big gaming firms, including Blizzard, at a quick pace.
Sure, I don’t have any more evidence for my argument than the forum Games Workshops complainers, but as I have dabbled in the world of graphic design, I’m very confident that when you pay for outsourced cosmetics, you get back the money you paid.
The quality of the product reflects what you paid for.
For goodness sake, Fatshark included the white Tallarn kiffeh (headwrap) with the winter cosmetics instead of the Tallarn set which got a mouth guard despite the fact that a mouth guard doesn’t belong to that set at all
The pants they sold with the outfit does belong to The Tallarn, but for a whole other separate unit set which is more of a “heavy trooper” fit.
The outfit that Fatshark sold uses pants similar to those includd with the Krieg Vet set, but in green.
The quality control for bought cosmetics is so terrible that even I, a Warhammer rookie, can tell they’re all wrong.
I’ll include pictures:
This is how this particular Tallarn set is supposed to look (see the similarities to the Krieg pants?) Tallarn and Krieg miniatures often uses the same type of pants:
This how it looks in Darktide. Picture is credited to someone else who complained about the same thing as me (the set is on the right) :
Classic Tallarn:
Updated with a thread about Fatshark returning to the typical ‘our hotfixes are almost entirely cosmetics based and we don’t change anything else even the things that DESPERATELY need balance’ rotation.
Also adding this to the cosmetics store complaints (taken from the Reddit thread for the latest shop rotation)
EDIT:
Got bored. Started a balance thread.
At least the new rotation is different. That’s where my bar is for them at this point.
The new backpack options aren’t bad either.
edit - great comment

Got a new one, almost a new section if you want. Which is “steps backwards from vermintide 2”
Which, for the first entry should be bots.
No customization possible, no selection of any kind possible. Nothing interesting about them. They’re purposefully given weapons that are horrible against carapace and (correct me if I’m wrong) have no blessings or modifiers on them.
I’ve been avoiding discussing VT2 since I didn’t play it. How about you elucidate on things that have been an objective step back?
I feel like they started from a blank slate, took the bare minimum idea of what makes a Tide game and thought “lets see what we make” which might seem like a good idea and can give the game its own identity but would cause them to make the same mistakes over and over. Idk for sure, but it feels that way to me.
Double edged sword if they did that imo.
The bot system was much more indepth for VT2.
Essentially it was this, the bots in your game were your account’s other characters. Since there were 5 and it was a 4 player coop game you could decide which bots would be present.
Bots would be equipped with whatever gear/talent load out you last used on your account’s other characters. In this way you were able to customize the bots gear, talents and cosmetics.
The level of the bots also matched the level of your characters.
Vermintide 2 allows you to:
- Choose the EXACT Mission that you want to play.
- Host your own Missions.
- Play 1-Player Private Missions (Solo Mode) with your very own Customisable Bots.
