The Blessing Bloodletter needs a rework

This Blessing sounds decent, but in-game it’s terrible. The Blessing in itself isn’t much impactful and on top of that you have to use it your special that will lock you in animation just to get stacks of bleed that doesn’t do a lot of damage even with a Tier 4 Blessing. For those who don’t know what Bloodletter is, I’ve attached a picture below.

In my opinion this blessing needs a rework. I have a suggestion that would make it so it can be viable to be not too over-powered in my opinion. My suggestion is to make it similar like the blessing “Lacerate” but instead of non-weakspots. It would apply 1-4 bleed stacks (depending on tier) when doing heavy attacks. This would help out the chain-weapons that are underperforming like Eviscerator, Chainsword, and Chain Axe.

What do you guys think? Do you think Bloodletter is fine as is or should be reworked in some way. Like to hear some thoughts on this blessing. For myself, I haven’t seen any good usage out of the blessing.

First of all they don´t underperform, just the short lock on the chainaxe even on light attacks sucks.

It would make the weapons too strong especially Evis. There wouldn´t even any need for the specials anymore since the bleeding will stack pretty easily even on armored targets.

Would need to check out the numbers, but i´m sure it´s pretty useful against Ogryns and bosses. Get it together with Bloodthirsty and you´ll probably have an easy day dealing with them.
Dunno if it also goes through shields from bulwarks since it just says “attacks”.

I confirm that eviscerator with this blessing eats through ogryns and bosses.

And it’s GLORIOUS to see all that blood!

Bleed does nothing to the armoured targets anyways, what’s the point xD

It does and it´s not even that low. Flak armored get 30 on max stacks and carapace 20. Unarmored seem to sit on 40 and it ticks like 2 times per second.

I wouldn´t say “it´s nothing” at this point. It´ll help to reach breakpoints and is perhaps more useful in fights under pressure, where you can´t attack all day long but want to take out elites here and there while kiting.

Yeah, but you have lock yourself into that awful animation leaving yourself vulnerable. On top of that you want to use a blessing slot for something for only against Ogryns and Bosses? All of the chain weapons have a hard time clearing a horde.

Yes, they do underperform. All of the chain weapons are terrible.

Have you used the Evis in Damnation? It’s terrible in horde-clearing. It takes forever even doing the combo with Push/attack then heavy swing. At least if this blessing was changed to my suggestion you would get bleed stacks via Heavy Swings and then can crit more often to clear more stuff as a zealot.

You really want to waste a blessing slot for something like this? I really doubt most people even use this blessing because of how horrible bleed is against armored elites. And if you are planning to use this against a Plague Ogryn, then I have to say that’s pretty awful. Plague Ogryns are a joke to begin with. If you want to use this against a Beast of Nurgle you’ll do your special and then the Beast of Nurgle will tail whip you off a ledge. The only plausible case that this blessing is good for is against Bulwarks/Reapers, but again, you have to lock yourself into an animation that leaves you exposed.

It’s a terrible blessing.

All of the chain weapons have a hard time clearing a horde.

Use the block attack repeatedly. It’s an horizontal slice with cleave. Heard the enemies and keep them in front of you. Works like a charm!

You’re gonna run out of stamina fast doing that and then die. Seen it happen too many times.

There are dozens of poeple claiming XY is bad at horde-clearing, meanwhile others (myself included) just slay through it.
The biggest issue are elites / specials in this game. So yes, going for more single-target damage, if you can handle the horde anway, is a good thing. (Depends on personal experience and skill probably…)

So you use this blessing on your chain weapons? My whole point in this thread is saying this blessing is bad and needs a rework. Tell me if you use this blessing on ANY of your chain weapons.

And if you are planning to use this against a Plague Ogryn, then I have to say that’s pretty awful. Plague Ogryns are a joke to begin with. If you want to use this against a Beast of Nurgle you’ll do your special and then the Beast of Nurgle will tail whip you off a ledge.

One of the intense joys I have is when fighting Plague Ogryns, Beasts of Nurgles, Daemon Hosts and Captain Bosses. Combined with the feat that gives 6 Stacks of Martyrdom (+30% power) and the feat that give you immortality at 1 Health Point for 5 Seconds, and the feat that heals back 50% of melee damage dealt during that period: it turns them into an additional Med Station!

And all the blood is glorious!

You’re gonna run out of stamina fast doing that and then die. Seen it happen too many times.

You will never run out if you have a curio with +3 Stamina, another with +15% Stamina Regeneration and a weapon with +1 Stamina.

Tell me if you use this blessing on ANY of your chain weapons.

Yes, in fact that is the main reason why I use a chain weapon in the first place.

The guaranteed critical plus the bleed stacks on special attacks is enormously beneficial when combined with other Zealot feats, and even those of other classes! When it bleeds, everyone benefits!

All right well glad someone found a use for it and enjoys it. All of the feedback I hear from anyone else is that this blessing sucks and I agree, but if someone found a use for it that’s great.

Tbh there is a lot of speech going around if poeple talk about balancing and stuff being useful / useless. But the most haven´t even tried out stuff by themselves or just don´t have the skill to to let weapons shine in a way, where they become actually comparable. They just check out websites or some streams and copy & paste everything.

A lot stuff will come with experience and suddenly stuff which was doomed will be viable or even really good. Maybe something will fit your personal playstyle way more than what others claim to be meta etc… It´s just always the same in every game.

Blood for the blood go…

I think Darktide has a Warhammer weapon problem.
Weapons like the Eviscerator get hyped up too much.

What is it actually good at?
Dealing with waves? A heavy Eviscerator hit kills two meat targets with a heavy and tickles three others. The light, or push in between bearly do anything. So the wave clear is rather bad.
The armor damage? The numbers are not terrible, but getting stuck in a target is only ever useful if there is nothing else around, at which point it doesnt matter how fast the thing you whack dies.
The mobility? We move around with the Eviscerator as if we accidentally cut our foot with it pre mission and are too ashamed to tell someone.

We are also bound to take Cleave and Damage Blessing to get there in the first place.

What does the Eviscerator actually have on the pro table apart from being a huge sword with moving teeth?

Blessings like Bloodletter, which enhance the rev which is in hardly any case ever the right move, dont help it at all.

Have fun getting max stacks on a single target in a horde

It´s 2 hits. And even if you only hit one and need to continue to kite, it´ll be “free” damage ticking till the end.

It´s more that poeple are so deep into the lore, that they completely forget that this is a videogame in the first case, which have to follow some other rules than “everything needs to be broken”. Otherwise the gameplay-loop wouldn´t work.
