The AI director is being silly


What’s the point of spawning this many gunners in such tight formation? They aren’t a threat when clumped together like this.

Gunners being more common than basic shooters/guardsmen on higher difficulties is honestly so dumb.

This has been an issue from day one. Initially you could go around a corner and get 8 shotgunners spawn in the same spot before they started rushing at you.

The current “patrol” system is better, but I wish especially ranged patrols were more spread out, spotted players quicker and took cover / positions instead of just standing there getting staggered and slaughtered in melee.

On other hand with how spammy AI director can be with ranged units, maybe I should be careful what I wish for…

You should download this mod - Killfeed Improvements at Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Nexus - Mods and community

This way you won’t be spammed with single lines of an enemy dying - if elites/specials die within a certain period of each other they get labeled as Scab Gunner x7.

Yeah… Smelter HL-17-46 during the last event comes to mind. Gunner clear on the other side of the map by the entrance to the final area, just beaming down players no problem.

Gunners really are a roll of the dice sometimes. Might be incompetent, might end all players in a matter of seconds. :man_shrugging:
