Just wanted to express appreciation for the Gifts of the Wolf-father this year. The shark hat and the Rhya’s flowery portrait frame made me so happy! I have coveted those items for years, the shark hat is so goofy and the flower portrait is the prettiest in the game imo. Seeing the pattern break of past items being locked forever has been really heartening. Letting players buy previous years’ cosmetics is great. More player-friendly moves by the devs, I love to see it.

Personally I’m not finding it very festive that there’s FOMO involved with the Christmas event, idk how this community just glances over stuff like this. Been busy all month till now, shafted once again ofc.

Too busy to use five minutes to start the game and claim reward? There’s a pretty generous buffer for claiming past days too, so you’d only have to get on once every 3 days (or maybe it’s five).
We probably “glance over it” because it’s a game, and the number of people who truly wanted the rewards but couldn’t claim them is very small. I missed a bunch because I was “busy” playing SM2 and Subnautica and forgot about this game for a bit. Bummed I missed them, but not anyone else’s fault, and I like the stakes of only being able to grab them in the window. Adds value to what you get.
I missed several of the days, not really pressed about it. I try to think of it like running programming or events IRL, not everybody is gonna be available at the same time. If I were running Fatshark I’d probably say let folks who log in at any point during the holiday get all the days, but I can see how the way they did it is a nice incentive to hop on.
FatShark giving free stuff all the time? GOATED. Love the new levels too.
