Taunt on Zealot!?

I want a taunt on my Zealot.. not like the buffs ogryn gets just the taunt. I wish to be able to get the enemy to target me so they’ll stay back off my teammates. And I just really like the idea of being targeted by the enemy! No buffs in any way just taunting them. I want that because it is so fun on oggy and wouldn’t be bad on Zealot at all!

On the ogryn, I don’t pick taunt in my actual build but use the talent that taunt on push

Tbh, too many ogryns actually. Zealot feel… Weak in comparison. As I said, they will need to buff veteran and zealot.

I mean.. Zealot isn’t bad or anything neither is veteran. But I wouldn’t mind a rework in their talents especially zealots.

Edit: I still take something like the taunt, extra stagger and stagger taunt. I try to keep stuff off my teammates and on me only time whenever oggy is just better is if theres a huge horde and you’re stuck between them and a wall because yk that dodge pushes everything out of the way knocks em down and even can have them only target you because taunt. Otherwise yeah I mean just a simple taunt button that does nothing would be fine. I just want more taunting lines tho lol. That and have stuff target me more..

I think it will happen…
Considering the gap between classes.

Of course you can use op weapons on every class and still be too powerful… But with the average weapons, there is a gap between reworked classes (psyker and ogryn) and others.

Yeah, its bound to happen tbh just a matter of time especially with how many changes there has been.

Beat me, a stagger taunt would be unique and could do well for his dodge mechanics… unless dodge would frustrate target and taunt too….=)

Id be fine with that, staggering the enemy makes them target you. I know oggy has that but only after he shoves. Which if you take the perk the shove staggers with 250%. Its pretty good but I would love a taunt or something on zealot. However on everyone I think we all want a “taunt the enemy” key lol something like outta boltgun.

Don’t think it would be a key probably tied to a new talent or existing ability or the combo ability talent could be added to attack/s after charge for “Fury of the Faithful”.

zealot: avast ye scunners!

zealot could use a rework as his tree has the least amount of nodes atm, leading to a lack of variety in builds, much like ogryn had before the rework.

zealot being a nimble melee specialist should excel at parrying attacks, like how dueling swords or axes can be used to disarm an opponent. as disarming is not possible i guess, disarming would mean staggering them, make them turn around or trip like the clumsy ugly people they are, for example by using the axe head to pull them much like ogryn does with his pickaxe. in case of the much heavier enemy ogryn, this would rather look like the zealot uses the axe to swing around to the enemy’s back.

Tbh, I am sure they will buff zealot, and veteran

But taunt… I would say it would be too much a copy of the Ogryn gameplay…
Taunt is the “pause” ability.
The equivalent for Zealot is chorus…

I beg to differ the arms come off quite easily and tough enemies keep coming 1 armed!

Monty Python and the Holy Grail - Black Knight
Also Zealot Aggro fights Neo vs Smith Clones [Part 2] | The Matrix Reloaded [Open Matte] … shoot now every good movie scene is coming to mind as a Zealot Aggro The Last Jedi (clip)

But yes zealot could use some fun non-pure damage utility talents … and if the taunt comes with some fun new voice lines so BE IT.

Sadly no one commented on my “holy stun grenade of Atoma” (antioch) reference in past posts.

I think in this situation the taunt would be more of an aggro, increased threat like attention seeker rather than loyal protector.

“buff zealot” okay.

For this I would say ok… but what would be the real interest in term of gameplay?
And would it not counter ogryn ability.

I love zealot, but as a lot of players, considering how you can be better on melee with an ogryn… I play it actually.
Ogryn has been my second preferred class since the veteran’s keystones (before it was veteran). Good keystones (I test actually middle keystone, and I was wrong… that’s strong).
But the gameplay is different… even the abilities are clearly made for the ogryn. The ability to retain the enemies attention should remain one trait of his image.

I don’t feel that it fits the zealot to have such talent. Just my opinion…

I imagine Ogryn’s would generates more threat. Zealots hits that stagger (more threat for more stagger) can then be used to peal some enemies off a Psyker or Veteran. Aggro’d enemies can be used to proc Zealot dodge talents… perhaps we could even add a smite immunity to Zealot Aggro’d enemies as smiting messes up their dodge dps a lot.

If we were to add threat on successful dodge in small area (imagine enemies getting angry and say GET THAT DANCING ONE) could also be used to peal for allies and proc more dodge talents… would def aggro orks they like a good fight.

I agree, I think Zealots Charge should have a talent option to taunt on hit or AoE. That could be interesting.

ah i saw “disarming” them only as smacking the weapon out of their hands, not together with their hand

making arms a weakpoint one can target specifically is interesting , but whether fatshark would implement disarming just for one talent… just changing the talent is the simpler solution.

Add one node to chorus so it also taunts enemies, then give zealot a shield +mace/sword

Really?
You want to reproduce Ogryn gameplay? Also why a shield?
Must say i used a lot the taunting ability of Ogryn and never used the shield.

Zealot would be cool with a shield due to 40k’s Crusaders, and Darktide already has a heavily scuffed (karked) version of the Crusader armor.

I’m not sure, but I feel ready for another fantasy tide, preferably with custom characters, or maybe GSG will release Rogue Core soonish and Dune: Awakening is coming next month.

I’m becoming a little tired of what Fatshark is doing with Darktide, but I’m completely aware that I’m only one person, and my issues with Fatshark, the same dev who made Vermintide 2, are personal, and I shouldn’t get too emotional about it all.

If you get Dune @Ralendil, we might meet on the dunes.

it would, I don’t deny it. But not with the same gameplay as ogryn.

Sure I will play it
But sure also, it is not darktide and not in competition with it.
We are more on a crafting survival game with PVE and PVP.
Long time I did not play an MMO with PVP gameplay… but it can be interesting.
