Issue Description:
Surge staff inconsistently fails to damage or cause stagger animations on nearest enemies (often in pointblank or almost melee range) when small groups are attacked, even if animation starts and ends while aiming at them and they’re lit up by lightning. Further away enemies are damaged and staggered, but the nearest one is left to continue their attack animation and hit me.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Play Surge Staff Psyker.
- Fire secondary attack at groups of aggroed enemies at close range.
- Get hit by the nearest one because even when the animation seems to start on the nearest one, they don’t seem to take any stagger.
- Take a hit and/or die as I’m animation locked, or try to switch weapons.
I went down at least a few times in a Heresy run just now from this bug alone, not even from large groups of enemies, just 4-5 groaners and Scab assaulters where the one already swinging at me was apparently least prioritized as a stagger target.
With my Surge Staff, I’m considerably more scared of groaners and poxwalkers than Ragers, Bulwarks, or Crushers because at least those high-threat individuals seem to be consistently staggered at close range.
