State of the Game: 6 Months Later, How do you Feel?

Exactly ^^

You might be able to take away from my last message that I implied that others think DT is worth its pricetag while I personally don’t.

Imho DT is not worth 40€ even if I got 2K hours out of it simply due to what I outlined here:

DT might be a ton of fun but man do you have to work yourself to the bone before you even have a chance of getting there…

After playing for 100 hours, you’ve gotten your moneys worth. If you quit, that’s just playing a game.

The RNG is trash, but getting stats isn’t making the game fun.

Should probably post a link on reddit to this so you can get more votes. If Fatshark see’s low numbers they just going to ignore it. I mean they’ll probably ignore it anyway. But at least with more votes you have higher chance of exposure.

Welcome #363 and #364

If someone else that’s more liked/popular wants to do it, they’re more than welcome to. I think everyone on that sub from Vermintide 2 especially has had about enough of my complaining tbh.

I’m very disappointed in Darktide

none of my friends and family will play it but they do ask me to play other things so there’s that lol

It does feel like forum threads will be just be falling onto deaf ears.

Directors of FatShark certainly have made their money. That 50 million USD investment from Tencent you would think they could made more maps than 2 with reused graphical assets. Tencent have majority decision and this is where the monetization comes in.

Way I see it I’ve paid for the game 15 bucks few months back and will keep playing. But I won’t be spending money on cosmetics, so I’ll keep using their server bandwidth to play online.

Look forward to other games this year like Payday 3

Just saw Rainbow Six Extraction coming to Steam next week. Going to love reading the steam comments for humour. Classic example of gameplay loop, no content, shop spam all gone wrong.

I honestly wont be satisfied until I feel this game has at least as much content as VT2 had a launch. But with Space Marine 2 now offering Co-op. And with the potential of a great multiplayer experience… Fatshark may have finally did themselves in.

It’s not done.

I don’t like lying devs who treat their customers poorly.

I have over 1k hours played, and i still absolutely love this game. I love the music and the core gameplay. What i still find distasteful is the locks on Perks and Blessings. For me the core combat gameplay is just enought to overlook this, though its somewhat taking away from my overall enjoyment of the game.

uninstalled, and my other buddy that has comparable hours to mine (over 1000) also stopped playing

there is not enough end game content (high intensity)
also the weapon balance is really bad, a 3% headshot rate bolter vet can outdamage, outkill everyone in the hardest difficulties (most elite kills, special kills, damage, everything).
also the weapon builds are very narrow (not many viable blessings, slaughterer is 99% needed on weapons that have it)

other reasons too but those are the first that come to mind

I’m right at 900 and I find them offensive, seeing that red lock is infuriating

the more hours you have, the more it hits you

I got to the point where I basically crafted aLL the gear I wanted and I realized there is nothing else to do.

The game doesnt even have hard difficulty always available…

lack of choice on which difficulty to play is i think the biggest offender. i personally dont like all maps, but i like playing on t5 hi+. i dont like low intensity and that the killer for me if there is no challanging game.

playing t5 is boring, i know we gonna a most likely win it (random games make some chance of losing), but in case you get typical team its just kill, kill without putting effort. sometimes daying coz i try to pull rambo tricks.

t5 hi+ on the other side is more challenging with bigger chance of wipeout, so i keeps me on my toes and from turning into rambo

Darktide is one of the greatest games of all time. I’d put it in my Top 5.

Where’s the “apathy” and “just memeing on the forum” options?

I am not satisfied with a product but its worth 40bucks, i would pay 40 more if all locks (missions, modifiers, weapon, voice lines,…) were removed and promised content drops were happening along frequent commlinks - this option is missing.

I voted “I am generally satisfied with Darktide.” however what I feel is more “I am pleased by the development of Darktide”.

Time played on Darktide more than 1 500 hours

Best feature they added: The possibility to store 5 different character configurations. I would love that they push this to 10.
Worst feature they added: Restricting penance to private games
Best present they made: New cosmetic shop + new cosmetics in aquila shop. I use the mod perspective (so 3rd person view in mission) and I love cosmetics.
Worst bug (interface): We cannot change of char configuration in the mission starting screen
Worst bug (gameplay): Shock and Awe not working
Worst features: Contract system (objectives are not made for a casual player), Brunt’s armoury (too many bad weapons), Crafting takes too much time for a casual player (I have 95% of the weapons I would want… but I want more players in this game)
Worst weapon that needs badly a buff: Revolver
Greater weapon that needs maybe a nerf: Bolter (but again not its strengh… but this weapon needs a stronger downside or an other one)
3 Preferred ranged weapons: Kantrael shotgun, Helbore MK III, Agri shotgun
3 Preferred melee weapons: Power sword MK VI, Combat Axe, Heavy sword
Most awaited new feature: new subclasses (zealot / sharpshooter)

unsatisfied, the few friends who still play and the playerbase in general is what keeps me enjoying t4 and t5 missions, the launch was abysmal to say the least but the fact that they focused on crafting 1st and it is still sh*t to put it lightly speaks a lot to the competence of whoever makes the decisions. I’d love to say it’s all the execs faults but at what point does that start sounding like major cope? anyways, even the simplest of things like giving the bots some major toughness buff and stronger equipment so they are not l i t e r a l l y useless has not been done yet. stop focusing on ways of keeping the player count by introducing grindy aspects and just improve the obviously bigger issues.

Pretty darn satisfied. I got 750+ hours of absolutely fun heretic killing out of it so far, that’s way more hours than most more expensive AAA titles.

Yeah it would be nice if the approach to crafting and rewards would involve far less RNG and I’d love to un-brick some otherwise great 380 gear. But the core gameplay is great.
