Are Bulwarks and Crushers supposed to be ninjas?
What about Maniacs and Ragers?
The amount of times recently that 3 Bulwarks manage to make NO SOUND AT ALL, until they have already hit is nuts.
Is this supposed to be happening? What is going on?
It’s very strange to me that these huge dudes covered in massive metal plating are able to silently sneak up on me all the time without a sound.
Yeah I agree they’re too quiet and could stand to be more loud in volume. In the past couple patches of the game they’ve been shifting around sound priorities a lot since they seemed to introduce a new sound prio system. For one patch, elites were really loud and hearable which was cool, especially because their voicelines are great. It seems in the current iteration they went back to making them very hard to hear again.
I don’t know if that’s intentional since Fatshark is known for having bad version control and sometimes reverting changes on accident, but it’s possibly meant to be that way. Hopefully they’ll take another look at it at some point
A lot of my personal noise problems come from poxbursters existing to cause this water-like barrier to everything’s sound that only intensifies when there are more poxbursters. I think doing something about them would fix a lot of sound issues, but knowing how each time they touch sound it gets worse and new problems occur, I rather they just dont touch it without actual testing rather than saying they have fixed the feeling that things were silent
Fatshark has struggled with those issues since Vermintide and frankly I don’t see them resolving those. There is no will to put sufficient resources to work on this OR worse the engine just cannot handle that many sources of sounds at the same time.
This was 2022, YEARS after VT2 community initially complained about sound issues in VT2. THere are mods there to alert you about specials and other poorly communicated events:
This is why I just recommend to anyone who is really bothered by those to install Spidey Sense mod, to at least visualise on screen the presence of specials / elites / bosses near by. A lot of that stuff is customisable, so you can limit the visual noise to your preference. It’s a half solution to a problem which should have been resolved half a decade ago…
not sure if it does something in this case, but its worth a shot (since i rarely encounter sound problems myself-makes it hard to test)
go to your sound settings to your main sound device click on properties (Eigenschaften on my pic)
Advanced (erweitert) open the dropdown menu, and try out different Hz preferably starting from the lowest setting and test if it affects your experience in DT
