Someone is Making a Darktide Shop Checker so You Don't Need to Login Every Hour

This has been mentioned multiple times already. So much so. It’s quite exasperating. The shrine system from Winds of Magic:

Is a great system from which Fatshark can reference for an improvement over what we have currently.

This. This is what we wanted, we left tons of feedback how WoM Shrine was great. WoM was a big failure of Fatshark arrogance (we were telling them doing seperate pay-wall mode for already small playerbase game is idiotic but as always “we know better” card was played) but Shrine in it (an upgrade version of VT1 Shrine that was missing in V2 till WoM) was really great.

That Shrine could be really easy implemented in Darktide on Launch (since they copy-paste like 80% assets from VT2 anyway) and it would be so much better.

Buut nooooooooo, “we know better” card was played.

Do you want hear the definition of insanity?

They did a good job with the revolver

That’s true, but then again, remember what people from this community wrote in the DT beta forum
This forum is an echo chamber - don’t forget that.

You’re absolutely right. I’m under no illusion that this developer cares about our feedback. However, every day our numbers grow. More dissatisfied players leave a negative review. More people stop playing. More people join the forum to express their disgust with Darktide.

Our voice grows louder and louder in each passing day.

Now it only needs some notification setting parameters so it can infrom you when you have say +360 weapon in store or certain blessings.
Honestly it is a little bit sad what this community can create in such a short time, while it can take fatshark ages to implement basic things.
I guess you could give fatshark some praise that the API is even there tough i doubt it was meant to be used like this.

Definitely will give the app a go when its available on a wider medium.

Random thought : the reaction from Fatshark to this will determine if the game goes to mostly negative reviews.

It will be interesting to see how they will handle it.
As much as I still think the whole 1 hour shop needs to go out of the window totally ; how they embrace this as a stop gap (hell allow us to buy the weapons in that system) will be interesting.

Based on their past behavior: They will go quiet and silently work on bug fixing for a year or two, barring some statements from community managers and the announcements of patches here and there. Crafting will be rolled out as planned with no feedback taken into account.

Beyond bug fixes and some new maps, nothing will be improved. No core system will be changed. The shop RNG as it is will remain for years. The game as it is (with improved performance and fixed bugs) is as the game will be for the next two years.

I can’t imagine they’ll acknowledge it, let alone make a fuss.

In some ways things like this are a positive sign for Fatshark. It shows that there are people out there who are engaged enough to dedicate their own hours to improve the experience with their game.

It’s no different to when we had modders, really, only in in DT they can’t actually work to improve the game itself.

Had the same idea at launch, but decided it wasn’t worth the hassle and or risk of repercussions, kinda like with Elite:Dangerous.

Unfortunately I can’t use this becuase the dashboard is pretty much non-functional for me. It has issues keeping my Steam login, I think.

While I bitterly despise anything related to the weaves - partially due to the fact that FS introduced a siloed crafting and inventory into the game - any of the VT2 crafting systems would have been more than fine.

Consider that the entire itemization system in darktide is tailored to
—> form a habit (logging in and checking the store)
—> that causes people to see their characters a lot (3rd person view in the Mourningstar, weapon vendor far away from spawn point)
—> to incentivise „players“ to buy more skins (from the money store that is conveniently located right next to the weapon vendor)

Considering that the game doesn’t really reward you for actually playing it, and that this tool would let you do the „engaging and rewarding endgame grind“ of checking the store without even logging in (thereby nullifying much of the „buy skins“ design), i think that FS do (or will) care. At least if enough people use the tool, or if it gets enough attention in general.

Either way, i hope that this contributes to FS completely changing the gear acquisition system and implementing something good instead.

This is neat, even sorts by highest rating. Wish it could do highest modifier rating though.

Seems like a good thing, this app. But honestly I won’t bother, since I don’t even want to start up the game anymore .

Checking every hour and logging in just to buy a weapon would yield better loot, but it’s still annoying.

I’ll use my time for something else.

Filters and sorting will come later per the developer.

InB4 Fatshark tries to shut it down because it goes against their predatory “nerf to prolong progression” mobile market tactics.
