correct it feels very similar to martyrdom, except with martyrdom you have to give up your curio perks for wounds and like 5 different talent points just to get it functional, this is just a single perk and it’s amazing XD
ogryn also has a bunch of health so, unlike martyrdom, i have 125 health while below 25% so, I’m not really “getting one shot” by the first ragger i see
zealot still has the free cheat death mechanic tho zealot is good haha
also your question about uninterruptable, i mean i like it but i can’t say i remember noticing getting interrupted or not, i would need to test to see what enemies can interrupt your charge attack i guess
It’s mechanics like this that make me want to cram as much toughness as possible. I’m testing 2 toughness curios + 1 hp (down from 3 toughness), and while the HP gives you bigger numbers I’m still content to stack toughness and eat bullets all day.
Again, still experimenting, but keen to hear people’s thoughts on full toughness vs. 1/2 HP.
for sure, and this is my exact thought with zealot as well, cram as much toughens as possible (i still run 1 health curio tho on zealot)
the one thing you need to worry about when cramming nothing but toughness is chip damage, raggers don’t care how much toughness or toughens regen you have, they always damage your health nonmatter what, fire also removes all of your toughness instantly, pox bursters and explosion’s damage health directly, corruption just deletes your health (good thing theirs not too much of that going around)
zealot mainly has toughness DR perks meaning, stacking health on a zealot, while you do get a little more health on screen at least, when you consider DR stacking, the toughness you have ends up going allot further, i mean hell one of the zealots perks is just 50% toughness DR when you get a crit hit? that’s basically a permeant buff on my setup
the one thing I’m torn about with the organ is that, he has 300 base HP, that is so much base HP, health curious and some skill points can easily push you over 500 HP (probably even close to 600 if i has max level curious with perks as well
not to mention, ogryn has allot of things that apply flat DR such as delight in destruction
up to 60% DR
implacable 15% DR
wont give in 20% DR per downed enemy (good for reviving your team as tank ogryn especially since ogryn cant be interrupted while reviving)
and heavyweight 30% damage and DR against other ogryns
these perks should all apply to your health and toughens since they are general
and i tell you, when your stacking that much DR on top of 600 HP MAN that’s allot of effective hit points ya know? kind of hard to not at least try it out
Yeah, the eternal struggle between ranged and melee defense rages on…
Something I’ve been trying to mitigate is the big stun you get when your toughness breaks – enough to put a stop to a charging Ogryn no less. Just one point in favour of toughness!
Coming from Zealot I find I am extremely prejudiced against gunners, so it also feels great to actively absorb fire. Having the ability to advance into a room of gunners and heavy attack your way into enough toughness to tank everything feels incredible!
When that toughness is gone, or there are no enemies in melee range however, goodbye precious HP…
anyway as for my current opinion on feel no pain, while i don’t really care that much about the toughness DR in this instance it could be good when stacking toughness, 25% is nothing to sneeze at
but with my build, I’m at the point where, i am quite literally choosing between 50% coherency regen + 25 toughness or
toughness DR + pox hound knockback
and honestly, the pox hound knockback alone is still enough for my to take the middle keystone, and the toughness DR is still nice, even if I’m stacking health in my current build
oh yeah haha gunners, i run knife and dash so they don’t often give me an issue, i kind of just, kill them before they can start shooting
the problem with them is, when your not the first person in the room, the room is large, and theirs like 20 of them shooting you from all angles, just constantly knocking you back up against a wall
i feel like the zealots dash should be a way to get out of it but, even that fails most of the time, feels like an instant death when you get into that situation
doesn’t happen often tho but it is annoying when it does happens
staying close range on melee characters is always a priority for me, especially on ogryn, where the only way i can replenish toughness is by attacking something
on zealot you have dash to regen toughenss as a panic button
honestly zealot to me feels like a much stronger melee character all round, but ogryn is super fun to play, i kind of enjoy the extra challenge on ogryn, and who doesn’t want to run around as a big friendly giant
i am quite enjoying gun ogryn as well
this is a maxed out toughness regen ogryn, you get your ability up pretty quick with it
i chose the achlys stubber specifically because it has the highest ammo reserve count, which means, i get to gun more, and toughness regen more as well, since allot of the perks here are based on how often you shoot and how much you can shoot, i abuse my ability to mainly reload my gun or take down crushers i can shoot like 150 bullets-200 bullets ish, then pop my ability and shoot another 150-200 ish
you don’t seem to understand that, you can refresh the offensive buff with heavy attacks as well
the only reason you would want brutish momentum, is if you want to stack up the buff, and then light attack repeatedly over and over and over again, without ever heavy attacking
I’m not saying you can’t do that you can play how you want i really don’t care
what I’m saying is, playing “that” way of playing is waiting most of the perks in the ogryns skill tree
I’m not telling you your wrong for wanting to do light attacks with the ogryn
I’m saying the skill tree does not accommodate for a decent light attack play style, but it would be nice if their was a way to make light attacks a more viable option
i can’t possibly lay everything out for you any more clearly then i possibly have
unless you have a counter argument, or you can see a flaw in what i have said, hell maybe i missed something in the tree, maybe i am overlooking something i don’t know, but unless you are going to POINT SOMETHING OUT that i missed, the only conclusion i can come to is that, you are just here to be a troll
