So Picks!

how do you confuse an ogryn? offer him 2 shovels and tell him to take his pick

TL DR conclusion : interesting weapons. all have access to a super charge overhead strike down that does huge damage. all feature low cleave light attack and all do very high damage no matter what you hit they do not care what armour the enemy has.
Karsolas- best for horde
branx best single
Barovian most options.

Edit - im an idiot they dont inflict bleed i forgot to turn off bater

Karsolas
Very strong damage spread. a light attack base 311 , does 246 of that to carapace , manic and infested are the only other reductions and they are less reduced. so you hit and what got hit feels it. theres no target you need to avoid it does huge damage to unyeild and flak.

light- string of 4 , first 3 wide sweep then one strikedown , slow terrible cleave (like 2 pox walkers max and the second ones taking half damage)

Heavy 2 attack string both Horizontal sweeps , good cleave good stagger and a bleed which of course has a synergy for the oggie

the push shove is haft to the face good single target stagger

the weapon special is pull towards move (seems to hit centre and right of crosshair easy to wiff targets left of reticle)

Super overhead attack - if the attack button is held after either the push shove or the weapon special move it will chain into a devastating hold to charge mutli stage attack that when charged will hit a damnation ogryn for around 1800

i imagine this will work well with thrust and the like.

TL:dr - single target elites light attack , specials use a super overhead, anythign more than one heavy swing away.

Barovian

Like its predecessor it fears no armour type but the categories do leap around this is weak (for a pick ) a 384 light attack doing only 300 vs cara and infested up to 460 on unyielding. and good on everything else.

Light another 4 string but second and third are vertical up downs but as this version also has terrible cleave on light attacks thats probably not the problem it sounds like.

Heavy - first is a heavy damage cleave , second is the special overhead super strike that does more the longer it charges (limited) .

Push > Shove , is a wide swing of the haft horizontal decent cleave stagger and range strong cc move.

Special has the hook and again if held will chain into the super overhead charge move.

a much more complicated weapon with only horde clear being simple Heavy > light. repeat.
or the push shove into heavy > light repeat.

the best single target chain i can find is Light >( heavy> light>light) then repeat in bracket

Branx
no surprise it hurts everything suffering a mild 15% reduction at worst vs infested doing up to +20% (ish) on flak.

Light chain- 3 overhead strike downs huge stagger and damage and as little cleave if you can get multiple enemy into the path of the swing and that’s no mean feat your going to hurt one and scare one more

Heavy Chain - it starts with super overhead charge strike (i happened to get limb splitter on the one i leveled that one shots a damnation crusher burying the needle north of 3600 dps)
leading into a decent ae cleave so the heavy chain is a reverse of the barovian.

Push shove is a wide horizontal sweep that can be held to chain into heavy 2 (the ae sweep) and this represents your best ae clearence option

the special on this is different to the other two and i think it might be bugged. its a very higher stagger and push smash to the face if you hold it it does a half move that doesn’t seem to have any actual attack data (it doesn’t hit anything)
i suspect it is supposed to chain into its heavy 2 but right now it is broken.

Edit - found a new chain from Heavy 2 , you can add a light attack that will let you chain back into heavy 2 and repeat , its odd delayed timing and its not one of the light chain its like an entirely unique cleaving light attack. its timing is so odd it almost feels like a bug.

You can chain a heavy 2 (or similar) after the special attack

The H2 on the Branx seems to have some pretty severe input lag - it reminds me of how the Mk1 club handled at launch. A little over half the time, it just… drops combo, no chaining possible, essentially animation-locked so you can’t even block.

Thing is, in context of the rest of the weapon’s handling, I’m almost certain that’s a bug and not a deliberate choice.

I’ve spent the most time with the Borovian, and one detail I wanted to mention is that a light attack while sliding is a narrow uppercut with high stagger that combos into the heavy overhead - I especially love it for handling gunners.
