The time caps at 20 minutes within the app, in the old GeForce Experience app, you could just do a registry edit and change this to however long you wanted. It no longer seems to work. It’s still possible to edit the same registry file, but it doesn’t save.
I don’t like having to manually start and stop recording. I’m a huge fan of background recording and I’m really disappointed that I can’t set the duration of it arbitrarily. I may have to revert back to GeForce Experience. It’s a shame because I’m also a huge fan of AV1 encoding which I don’t think Nvidia has added to GeForce Experience.
My feeling is that Party finder is not yet finalized. And that we will get a system where we will be able to choose what mission we launch. The question is how much freedom Fatshark will offer us? I guess the answer will always be “not enough”.
Got 40 via pugs, might start looking to the Discord for premades to attempt True Survivor if I don’t get it soon. Worst part is I almost had true survivor before I got 40, but we failed in the last 5~ minutes of a Gloriana run.
True Survivor, and penances similar to it that require anything from other players, are dumb and should not be in the game.
How exactly is a premade tiptoeing through a Havoc 35 a better feat than clutching a 40? It isn’t. I’m not saying clutching a 40 should be a penance either because again, it involves actions from other people.
I mean it makes sense. Co-op game should have co-op achievements, regardless of how good or bad we think they are.
Bro it was one of the best pugs I’d ever had, just came apart on the 3rd part of the final obj when we needed to flip all the switches around the perimeter. Heartbreaking.
Agree. In fact I think the jump from 19 to 20ish is enormous.
Some of the most challenging havoc matches I’ve played have been low 20s. You get the increased difficulty and many daydreamer teammates lol.
Yesterday I did an amazing havoc clutch run as Ogryn, got to all my downed teamates after about 10 mins of solo fighting off 2 monstrosities and many hordes…got to them and got downed the milisecond I revived a teammate…who was afk without any warning and just stood there until dead it was funny but was right at the end of smelter so was a little frustrating. Was about h25 I think but yeah teammate RNG is helluva thing at the lower h levels and makes many matches much harder than h35-h40 imo.
Yeah I can imagine! I have had similar experience. Once you’re past that first big fight with the resetting battery things, you think “ah that’s the hard bit over” so hurts double time if failing after that ballache of a battle lol
Hard disagree. But I have a very well-defined set of criteria for what is and isn’t an acceptable achievement in a game, and it goes well beyond penances in Darktide.
It’s a simple principle I have that doesn’t change based on the genre of game. Achievements should be personal achievements that don’t rely on the input of other players as much as is feasible. I’d be against an achievement in a PVP game that requires the entire team to go positive K/D in TDM for the same reason.
I’d be OK with headshot an opponent in PVP, or personally go positive K/D, even though this does technically somewhat rely on the input of the opponent, but to the smallest degree possible in a multiplayer game.
I’d be fine with a penance in Darktide for doing a Havoc 40 without going down. I’d even be OK with it if the criteria were tightened to not going down and not getting disabled. This would be a lot harder than True Survivor, but still a much better achievement because it has fewer externalities. A better team would still make it easier, but you could theretically play with braindead rhesus monkeys and still complete it.
I mean since you’ve added “personal” as a qualifier here, I can’t argue with your logic.
But that has never been an implied requirement for achievements as a whole. Whether in gaming or otherwise. Sounds like an uphill battle in the rain if you ask me.
I’m making a qualitative argument as to what should be, not what the current state of things are. Obviously there are tons of crappy achievements out there and plenty that revolve entirely around the actions of other players. I also acknowledge that not all co-op achievements are equally bad, but they do all share the same fundamental flaw.
It’s definitely never happening. Just like FOMO will never completely disappear from the gaming scene either. In both cases, I still hate it and will occasionally call it out.
